Afro-punk Festival 2009 kicks off with Adjust Your Color-The Truth of Petey Greene
Its the true story of America's first shock-jock!
Famous for his patois of street talk, Bible citations, rhyming rap, quotes from his grandmother and African American poets, Petey Green first to took to the airwaves from inside the Lorton Reformatory prison, in 1965. His prison radio show was so entertaining that the guards refused to let him be paroled, even though he was eligible!

Petey Green went on to present the Emmy-award winning national TV show Petey Green's Washington for almost two decades, inspiring a new generation of media personalities with his outrageous shock-jock tactics and invigorating America's African American community with a new mantra: tell it like it is.
