Foals-Antidotes: I'm really feelin' this, it's like nerdy math rock you can dance to!

and also

Nas-"Nigger" or um... "Untitled": Lyrically, Nas is doing what he does best. He raises some thought provoking questions about race and some of the beats don't suck. Sly Fox and the intro are certified bangers. I also like "Project Roach" with the Last Poets and "Fried Chicken" with Busta Rhymes reveals Nas' sense of humor, who knew?
I've had a long day so a little Lamb (Fear of Fours) to soothe me.
I'm in one of my moods, today.

The Doors- Universal Mind
Radiohead- Exit Music(For a Film)
Tori Amos-Spark
Faith and the muse- All Lover's Lost
The Doors- Break on Through, People Are Strange, and Strange Days, i'll probably just finish listening to this
garbage-supervixen
Yeah I heard Black Kids for the first time yesterday on Current. Something like, "I'm not gonna teach your boyfriend how to dance with you". They've got a cool electro funkish kind of vibe. I think that was a remix, though.

Kudu's sounding pretty nice, as well. I haven't been able to listen to a lot of Afropunk bands cause my comps down and the only time I can hear the music is when I have access to my school's computer lab.

I was listening to the Misfits Earth A.D album. But i'm tired of old music. So I started listening to Kudu on Myspace.
Common - Come Close

Are the Black Kids good? Are there any Black kids in the group?
Bad Brains-Build a Nation. This gets better every time I listen to it.
Police-Zenyatta Mondatta. The drums on this record are great to listen to after months of double bass and roll after fill after roll after fill. On one of the songs he just hit a wood block once for a fill.
Slayer-Reign in Blood. Classic material. 18 minutes long, but never seems too short. GREAT vibrato bar brutality.
DJ Quik-Safe and Sound. Immaculate beats and music as always, but sometimes the misogyny really jumps out. Quik himself said he was going backward on this album, but it is still great.

Good question. I'm not sure, actually. *Scratches head*. Hmm.
I was a-watching Afropunk last night with a couple of friends. We watched the movie, then listened to the cd. I was just listening to it this morning. I hadn't paid much attention to Yaphet Koto, but she's pretty good. I'm glad I got to pass the movie down to my friends. It's like passing down scrolls from the Library of Alexandia. It's important knowledge for people of my gen and the next gens to know.

They didn't like *all of the music on the movie/cd, but that's not important. They respect the cause. *That's what's important.
The Mars Volta-Goliath

Yeah, I am feeling the Black Kids too...it's obvious they grew up listening to The Cure. I like it!

Yes and yep : ) The guitarist/lead singer and his sister (keyboards and backgrnd. vox) are Black. I like their sound. Makes me think of the early/mid 80's. Not too deep, just fun. It's kinda weird watching an indie band blow up in a relatively short time. It's kinda like the secret is out lol. They just played Letterman the other night.

Ahh. i see. In the video I saw the lead singer was really light("I'm not gonan teach your girlfriend how to dance with you."). So I was questioning his background. I guess it was just the lighting cause there's a major difference between him in the video and in those pictures.
