... the other Black experience

I was wondering what kind of hair dye do you all use? The girl that does my hair uses jazzing and I like it alright, but the color isn't as bright as I'd want. I love the jet grape color. I have a relaxer in my hair so I can't bleach, right?
I've checked out manic panic, but I don't know how it would react on my hair. Does anyone have and advice?

That some good information, ST. That site too is interesting. Starla, yes I too have a few gray hairs already. I suppose the certified good quality made for hair use henna is a good idea for that. But frankly, I just don't give a shit about the few gray hairs I see on my head. Funny, I always think it's dust until I look for it real close and realize it's hair that's shiny gray.

Ladies Who Henna, I have a question. I remember trying henna about 15 or 20 years ago, back when I was straightening by chemical relaxers.

Now that' I've been natural for 7 years: do you know the effect on natural hair versus straightened hair?
I remember my hair felt a bit strange when it was chemically relaxed, and I want to know how henna-ing your NATURAL hair feels once your hair has dried. I'm curious.

Softer. More moisturized after 3 or 4 days. It might be a little crunchy depending on how much conditioner you use to wash the paste out. I'm henna'ing again either this weekend or later next week; I'll be posting steps and stuff on another site. ^__^ They say the curl pattern is very slightly relaxed but that didn't happen with me.

Oooh, I'd definitely be interested in your tutorial and pictures! Pls copy & paste over here...I was definitely reading up on henna the other week...definitely interested in softening my hair and lightening up the color a bit. :D

That was the plan. ^__^
i used to color all the time, using semi permanent dye

it's hard having ethnic hair and trying to dye it bright colors. it makes it even harder when it chemically treated.
my hair used to be relaxed, and i bleached it, cause i wanted my bangs to be bright red.
yeah, the shit pretty much fell out.
but i made a comeback, lol. it's back to normal, after over a year.

just dont ever try to bleach relaxed hair. although ive seen this one girl who's bleached before who appears to have never relaxed, and she seems fine....

just in the end, its important to embrace the color nature gave ya.
i learned the hard way but still.. hahaha.

good luck 2 ya (:
