Diplo is a producer, from what I've gathered... (that MIA song with the Clash sample... he/she produced it, I believe).

Yesterday was the birthday of Eartha Kitt.

I think she recorded "Santa Baby" first, not sure tho.

I didn't know her outside of being the second Cat Woman, didn't realize she's had such a life and such a singer career in multiple languages. I didn't learn about her until she died.

On a sort of related note, I was so used to seeing Ruby Dee as a Grandmother I never imagined she was a fox in her day.

this post was partly brought on by TCM's marathon of black films earlier today. Early black cinema is very interesting and I'm glad the Library of Congress is preserving the independent black films made in the very early part of the 20th century.
