I like the idea of Rap but even some of the underground artists ( Like Talib) engage in the boasting and ego centric games of the mainstream and of yesteryear. Right now I'm listening to K-os: a guy who has production and instrumentals on his track to rival anybody. I also like Bus Driver and Cadence Weapon. I want to start getting into the cool stuff coming out of Minnesota.
Rap? U find that shit in the gift shop(jk, just wanted to quote Andre 3000)

These are the HIP-HOP records I've listened to in the the past week:

Ghostface Killah-Bulletproof Wallets("niggas gon fuck around and get they ballon popped!"-I love his stream of consciousness rants, so funny)
Lupe Fiasco-Food & Liquor
Lupe Fiasco-The Cool
U-God-Golden Arms Redemption(save for 1 or 2 songs I reminded myself of why I hadn't listened to it in so long. Dude definately can't carry a whole album, He's good with his 16's on Wu trax-most of the time)
Meth and Red- Blackout 2

The Roots and Q-tip are lined up next.

I think I might go on a CoFlow/Def Jux binge in a minute..
I saw busdriver live once. He was supporting El-P and Dizzee Razcal on tour. I liked his performance. This is what I want right now..

Kooley High
Blue Scholars
EL-P
all of the above! but yeah I know that Boasting has always been a part of MC poppin but i still think its kinda tired.

Now is this a discussion about discussing rap and hip-hop or is this just a "what I like to listen to" discussion?
LL-Bigger and Deffer
Andre Nickatina-Khanthology. Definitely NC-17
I've been listening to more Tech N9ne and MF Doom lately.
I literally just found out about this. I have the first volume and now they're messing with some dubstep on volume 2. This seems really interesting..

thats whats up.
