AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Hey, folks. It's been a while.
I've been runnin' around like a madman tryin' to get my DJ career off and running. It's a lot of hard work pushing myself, promoting, playing gigs for little or no money. getting screwed by promoters and bar owners and your fellow DJs all while working a full time job. My love life has taken a serious hit and I'm constantly tired and miserable. I have no time to exercise and as a result I put on a few extra pounds.(for me that would be 5 or 6)
Overall, I wouldn't change a thing. I'm actually having the time of my life trying to accomplish something and trying to earn a living at something I really enjoy. Win or lose, it's been worth the effort.
I hope everyone is doing well and maybe in the near future I will have time to annoy the living shit out of y'all again.
I miss this place.
Peace!

Best of luck with your career and see you when you get back :).
Good luck with it all.
What kind of music do you spin?

I'm basically a house (Deep, Tech house, and a little techno) DJ and I try to stay within that genre. Sometimes I do Drum n Bass and Dubstep. I pretty much stick to spinning what I enjoy listening to. I will never play Top 40 and hip-hop, which is why I'm having a hard time breaking through. I've lost a ton of gigs because of that, but that's ok.
I've posted a few mixes on here in the past.
have fun! you live once!
