Permalink Reply by PolarVibez on April 7, 2012 at 5:03pm Yeah that sun is downright deceiving folks out here. Down here it's really the wind causin the chills though. You wanna keep a jacket on but then when the winds stops blowing you get hot. I hate when the weather gets schizo like that.

= Yes it was warm out for a minute yesterday. And it's sunny today. But did you step outside or check the weather? It ain't shorts climate yet, honey. Yeah your legs look nice but wonder why you're alone setting it off with the spring gear? 'Cause it's still c-c-c-cold out today! And the wind is hawking. You got shorts, a hoodie on and all bent over trying to block the wind from your flame for your cigarette. Got it all messed up.
Permalink Reply by Compound Egret on April 8, 2012 at 2:20am I feel bad for Demi Lovato. Internet haters are always dogging her about her weight, but she looks fine to me.
= Folks gotta stop with the "Tar-jay" phony French pronounciation of Target. I get the joke, Target is supposed to be a fancier, high-end Kmart or Wal-Mart, cool if you think that. Yes, the environment is warmer & more socially appealing. But that joke is way too old & corny, stop that shit, merci beaucoup.
= I've enjoyed wearing my winter gear for a bit longer, aiight? Now it's time for spring okay, Momma Nature? I'm ready to pull my shorter sleeves out and put away my coats & sweaters if you don't mind. It's cool the pollen hasn't spread yet but I could use some warm weather now, sheesh it's near mid-April. Word PV this bi-polar weather is too unpredictable.
= More reminders of why I gotta roll. Keep 'em coming, I'm packing up literally & figuratively.
= Soon come. If all goes well I'm going to have them unlock my phone and go to a less expensive carrier. Early thanks to all of you up here who advised me on the lower priced systems; when this happens I'm gonna rave about it. I'll keep Fios for net service but their overpriced phone charges can kiss my ass.
Hello everyone add me and check out my blog, you wont want to miss this!!
= I was very excited to find your specific African Americana restaurant after I read the article. I wish to bring my girlfriend and folks there. Yes I should have seen the sign and I know you're busy. But you could have said at a word to me as opposed to just pointing at the sign. I know I may look strange but I'm sure I don't look that much more menacing than most of your clientele. We even share the same style of wearing our hair.
I'm going to go against my base feelings and come back later. I will give us both of us another chance. In the past I'd say 'fuck this place' and never return but it's all good. Maybe you had a bad experience with someone who looked something like me. Maybe you'd been having not the best day so far. Maybe biz could be better. I don't know but I will come and I hope the food and service are better than my first impression. Trust me, I'm a nice guy who'll bring business to your spot if you allow me to. Best of luck, see you soon.

Okay just for you K; "broken down to the very last compound...":
I read an article about a Gullah/Geechie restaurant that sounded good, ran by this sister who had her photo in the piece. I go searching for this spot and found it, walked up to the door. I see the doors locked but the sister propietor inside. She comes up and opens the door looking at me strangely. With a smile, I politely ask when is her place open and she points at the sign without saying much (if anything) and walks back inside. I say 'thank you' and step away thinking I did something wrong.
Yes I was early and should have read the sign. But the current seemed a bit cold & unwelcoming from her. I'm a sensitive dude which works in two ways: 1] I can take stuff too personally 2] I can often feel when I'm not really wanted. I could be completely wrong about the vibe I got but it was felt.
Still I'm going to come back and try the food anyway. It's possible I misread her body language but we'll see when I spend some money, eat the food and check the service. Negroes like me expect to get friendly responses to their friendly actions but I guess I'm just still naive like that. I hope that she was just busy so I can get some good food at a local Black business.

Do not alienate your customers, especially not when you are in a market where they have other options.
Indeed.
Don't she know Negroes hold grudges? ...see that's why we can't have sh--; I'm going to the white/Asian/Indian spot... All she had to do was smile & say "Come back in an hour!"
I'm going against my Negrofied nature & still check her out. I still love our Black indifferent-to-near-rude asses, warts & all.
Part II Operation Support Black Business coming soon...
Permalink Reply by kifaru on April 18, 2012 at 4:05pm Do it. Take the high ground. I have decided against that because our people really don't understand when their businesses fail due to bad service. I have been to some black restaurants where the people were very pleasant and I have been to black owned spots that were not. I always tell the people why I am not pleased with their service in a nice manner and then I don't patronize them any more. I have yet to see a business do well that does not respect it's customers.
