AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

All I have to say DAMN! This smashes Batman Begins. I checked out the 1:30am show. Only complaint is Christian Bales voice when he is Batman other than that sick movie. Heath Ledger believe the hype dude nailed it. Maggie Gylenhall thank god she replaced Katie Holmes. Morgan Freeman, Aaron Echart, Michael Caine all amazing. Everyone steped up in this movie. It felt a little long towards the end but then again after being up all day going to work and then hitting the 130 show of course it felt long. Saw it on IMAX going to see it again tonight. Definitely worth the cost of admission!

...ohya....did anyone else see the previews for The Watchmen and Terminator:Salvation (w/ Bale as John Connor :O) during their screenings?
Yea. I'm totally surprised that they're coming out with a new Terminator movie. Then again with the success with the show I should've seen it coming.

How about a magic trick?
I'm going to make this pencil...disappear!

One of two best scenes in the movie! The other is when the Joker is leaving the hospital as it's exploding. Ledger in that nurses dress and the red wig...priceless! :}

anyway, back to the DARK KNIGHT.
If Nolan makes another one (and I hope he does), he's really gonna have to up the ante.
I love TDK so much that I'd declare it nearly flawless.
One question though- why did Batman save Harvey Dent instead of Rachel?

...SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER...
Batman went for Rachel but Joker lied about who was at which locations.
I said some stuff on it in the "What film's you're Watching Now" thread so I'll attempt brevity here.

= Long. Great plot by the Nolans, but nearly 3 hours? Sheesh...

= Heath was excellent as expected. Stole & chewed scenery without trying hard. Imbalanced yet brilliantly psychopathic mentality well expressed.

= Didn't dig the 2-dimensional Black characters. Micheal Jai White was underused again like in Kill Bill II. The pencil trick wasn't that cute too me but I'm weird like that; I don't enjoy watching brothers get played out onscreen.

= Big shout to my girl Monique who played Det. Rodriquez with Comm. Gordon (Oldham). She executed her supporting role wonderfully. Big jump from the Cuban restaurant, you paid dues & they're coming to you hermana, congrats!

= Outside of Heath's Joker, I didn't dig this as much as 'Begins'. I enjoyed the development of all the characters (Aflred, Lucius, Bruce/Bat, Ras Al Ghul, etc.) more in 'Begins' than in this one.

= 8 bucks for the 1:20 matinee? Damn...glad I double-featured it jumping into Hellboy II (also not as good as the first one).

= Man, there had to be at least a half hour of previews. Watchmen & The Spirit look interesting. Terminator? Uh, not holding my breath.

= Y'all mentioned stuff I missed: Tiny "Deebo" Lister was in this? Shoot, must have fell asleep more often than I thought...

Decent overall; gets a B . Not running out to spend $12 to sit for 152 minutes anytime too soon.
I loved the movie. I never saw Batman Begins though. Every part that had the Joker in it I LOVED. Heath did an awesome job as the Joker. It was such an intense and demanding role. He made it look flawless.
Yeah The Dark Knight was so cool...the joker was a little creepy especially when he was walking out that hospital with that nurse outfit on...my only probably with it was it was so damn long and I got ADD(not really) and the movie started at 8:15 but I lost interest at 8:45 lol j/k
Clearly, the 'joke' is on someone...
