AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

I often hear people speak about being bicurious or being bisexual. I often wonder what is the difference? If I'm bicurious am I contemplating having a sexual encounter with a female and if I go through with it I'm bisexual. Would one be bicurious or bisexual if she is turned on by another female? I myself am very curious and I know my afropunk freaks will help me get this straight!

Bicurious- not sure if they're bi, just wanting to try it out, not serious.

Bisexual- capable of actual love for anyone regardless of their gender.

It's sort of like playing vs being for real.
A lot of girls say they're bi but they're not capable of taking a woman wanting a relationship with them as seriously as they'd take a man. I've heard some real bad stories about women who were just in it to "try something different" and stringing some poor chick along and breaking her heart in the end because she doesn't consider her a real relationship.

You can go through with it, that doesn't make you bisexual.
I'm not the biggest fan of Dan Savage, but I skim his column every once in a while... and there was a guy who wrote in asking about if he's bi now after he had tried gay sex and gagged in disgust on the real life prospect of sucking a dick that was right in front of his face and he did try it begrudgingly.
Anyway, Dan Savage said there's no better way to know for sure you're straight than by confronting your curiosities and being grossed out by them. :p

I think there's the whole sexual identity versus sexual tendencies at work when people say bisexual and bicurious. For some people they're neatly packaged and for others it's a bit more complicated.

Yeah thanks for explaining the difference because I've always been a lil confused as well. I think a lot of people have gone "bi crazy" these days. There was way too many people at my old high school who were claiming to be bisexual and I think most were just confused or curious
Yeah tons of that is happening. I was just talking to a friend about how it contributes to femmes being pushed aside/over by the lesbian community.

Bicurious=wanting to try because theyve thought about having gay/lesbian sex
Bisexual=Attracted to both/Doesnt care for gender

However, I dont think that you can say you are completely gay or bi just by having sex w/someone of the same gender. That just means you like the body of your gender. When you think about it that means that you are basing your feelings off of what you are attracted to.
You're just open minded.

I find men sexy... Does that make me BI? At the same time I like women(first) but I like feminine guys, who aren't gay.

I actually had a friend who used to feel me up in 8th, and I never made a huge fuss over it. I think I'll get on this once I'm out of my parents house, and actually can do what the hell I want, but for now, I think I'll keep these feelings repressed.

Also my dad would kill me.

Probably not. I find that most gay guys aren't into trannies.
i think being pansexual or omnisexual is where its at now cuz ur allowed to be more fluid not jus liking boys and girls but anything in between and theres ALOT in between
^^I've been calling myself a pansexual lately because I think biological sex(es) are less of a barrier to me than I originally thought they were. I'm not in the mood for men or women, I'm in the mood for everybody. It's nice to be able to be free in that respect.

Probably not. You like that they are chicks with dicks, not dudes with dicks.
But if you have a thing for dudes with vaginas. ...maybe that'd be something for the books. I'd be into that, too.

I like chicks with dicks too. Like if we were changing in the bathroom and something catches my eye. .."Is that a tail?!" That's what I'm talking about.. ..why are they so hard to find? I guess it should be like opening a present and getting a big surprise. I'd be over the moon.

A tail?...lmao. I've seen a few trans people around here. MtF and FtM. I gotta friend that's FtM, or a dude with a vagina..lol. You ever seen Buck Angel?

I like the term pansexual. It just sounds all deep and spiritual..lol
