Color Blind Magoos in of Obama's America
Okay-- Let me explain what 'magoos' are. First of all you have to know who Mr. Magoo is. He was this rich old white dude who was ridiculously nearsighted, would always get into stupid shit and be completely oblivious to all the shit around him.
In this context, the magoos are what I call people who claim to be 'colorblind'. They're not always white, but it's definitely easy to be a magoo if you are within the graces of white privilege. Recently, this sign went up on the highway not far from the town I grew up in.

Magoo signs such as that inspire hatred. That sign is technically not racist but it is. I don't know any one that
walks around trying to point out what is or isn't racist but the intent
is clear and dangerous. The property owners and the business have a
right to take it down. It still remains and I kinda have a problem with
that. on many levels. I do not want my children viewing such material.

is just what I am saying. Someone used a hot word to get attention. Now
because everyone is taking pictures and sending in to news channels
everyone is talking about it. We could have all read it as stingy and
not given them what they wanted. I choose not to do that. The word means
stingy and that is what I will tell my kids. I can take it as literal
