AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Does anyone have accounts on any virtual worlds or MMO games?
It's kinda cool being able to meet people in a virtual world, you know. Especially if they live thousands of miles away and you just can't hang everyday or meet up.   :P
I have a little store on Secondlife.
So yeah...
Does anyone else have a virtual world you like to hang in time to time? :D
This is my avatar. Yeah I'm a dork.

I did, but now I don't. Your avatar is very pretty. :]

When I think about MMOs It surprises me that I don't mess with them, especially since there are so many free ones. I just can't justify spending the time. I can't really diss them though; sitting at the computer looking at music videos and band pictures from 25 years ago is about as productive, and I do that without pause.

Questions:

What do you sell in your store?

Do you sell hard goods or Is it all virtual goods?

Do you make it yourself?

What sort of income do you generate? Feel free to plead the fifth.

Do people represent their race and/or gender differently pretty often? Are they more likely to just embellish a version of their regular self, or is there really no way to tell?

Virtual Goods. Clothing, Scripted Furniture, & Accesories like bags.

I make it myself.

I have my stuff set really cheap so I only make about 50 dollars a week.

I think the currency is 250 Linden is $1.00 Dollar

And I have all my clothing set at 150L

I have a friend who makes and sell hair for avatars and he makes 1800 dollars a month. :'( So lucky.

There are some [eople do represent their race and gender differently alot of the time. Alot of people pretend they're Japanese. There's also alot of divided scenes. In the hip hop rap scene, you find alot of people who are actually white but have black avatars. So there are those few you just don't know about but most people like to represent themselves or weird like characters since you can anyone.

There's also an avatar that was created after Michael Jackson and has a ranch that has been done up to look just like Michael Jackson's in memory of him and you can like go there and ride rides and read alot of information on MJ. There's even a virtual monkey there.

I have met many pretty cool Afro Punk style avatars also.

Thank you :)

Congrats on your store, especially if it is netting you extra cash. Does you inventory cost you any money or is it renewable once created like a jpg file or mp3?
It just remains there
Well I have been playing World of Warcraft for 5 years and it has become my second life. I have met many different people and made alot of friends. Also when you play on the same server for a long time you become kind of "popular" to other players. I love my "second life".
Oh I have a Secondlife account. I really don't have a motive at all in the game. I just travel around to different places.
