Permalink Reply by Kareem on August 24, 2010 at 10:00pm I suppose the closest thing to what you seek would be a band like National Wake. . one of the first integrated punk bands out of South Africa . . True hybrid of punk rock would definitely have to incorporate less complex musical styles to be considered punk. Punk is deliberately stripped down to minimal chord structure, sped up and most compositions are less than 4 minutes in length. Anyhow . . you may find this interesting.
Permalink Reply by Kareem on August 25, 2010 at 5:39pm I suppose one can classify "rebellious" aggressive music as punk. Early thrash metal was influence by punk rock from the late 70's. After taking a listen to your music . . I am not sure how to classify it. Some may classify it as Afro punk and others probably will not. On the Memorials clip - Thomas Pridgen is an excellent drummer. As a musician I love to jam with great drummers the spectrum of diversity is almost endless.
