Does anyone else notice that almost none of the popular music has cultural content? But yet they make the bulk of the $.

Just seeing if anybody has a different point of view.

Thus creating a "culture" of spiritually empty consumerism.
Though they're not "mainstream," I praise folks like Bilal, Erykah B, Janelle Monae, Ebony Bones etc. for pushing culture further and making a seemingly good livelihood at it.
