AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

I'm having a hard time lately finding new indie bands that are actually indie and not indie because they suck and no one wants to claim them as anything else. Jrock has been pretty much the same I have the basics like, girugamesh, dir en grey, antic cafe, miyavi, Qomolangma Tomato, orge you asshole and the telephones.

Does anyone know any other good ones?

You should check the jrock group on this board.

I dunno but WHY? is pretty awesome.

Hmm, Japanese rock/J-punk bands...Try Peelander-Z, Guitar Wolf, L'Arc En Ciel, Stance Punks are a few bands that I can think of off hand.

I just saw Peelander-Z live. Amazing group.

Japanese indie:

Coaltar of the deepers

Number Girl

Natsumen

Luminous Orange

Fujifabric

Zazen Boys

Kimonos

Toddle

Blood thirsty butchers

I could go on an on and on. That list is a just a few on the J-indie scene.

Good ones I listen to right now is Cro-magnons, Dakota Star, Echo, No More Tear (ThaiRock).  I probably have a couple of other recommends.
More noise than indie, but I recommend Ruins to anybody interested in Japanese sounds
japanther punk and indie
