this is what i did........about twice a year, soak your head in sea salt water. let your hair dry and then wash your hair with a very simple shampoo! i don't use shit that promises tooooo much! most of the time I use dawn liquid soap. my hair is long, so i wash in big buckets of soapy water. use a simple shampoo, let your hair dry, about two or three days later, soak you hair in conditioner water. i just put warmish-hot water and conditioner in a blender and create conditioner water. soak your hair and let the conditioner water dry in your hair and let it stay until your next wash. i love a certain shampoo but i have to order it through Bronner Brothers. it's called NU EXPRESSIONS, SCALP-ALE THERAPEUTIC SHAMPOO from BRONNER BROTHERS. wonderful shampoo. very strong and minty. tea tree oils. i mean very strong. i found out about this by accident. WARNING! WARNING! if you twist your hair, please twist before you do the sea-salt dip and wash-out, because your locks will fuse together. your hair dreads during the washing process, not the twisting process. remember. your hair is as unique as your finger print. you may have pure African in your blood line or Hispanic or any culture or race in your blood line and that will create a certain texture of hair. some oils work wonderful on your hair and some just sit on your hair. trail and error is wonderful, it helps you find your right combination.
Dr. Bronner's soaps work well for me. It also goes a long way if you mix it with water in a spray bottle..

^^ What I use. I'd recommend the peppermint kind for the summer. It makes my head tingle, especially on a windy day.

On occasion, I'll use apple cider vinegar diluted with water (gets my hair so clean it squeaks when I rub my scalp). Or baking soda. I'm sure there's a "proper" ratio for mixing and diluting, but I've never bothered to look it up.
Thanks guys!
