Elle's Cover Of Indian Actress Aishwayra Rai Bachchan Has Been Made To Look White

Dear AP fam,

I just woke up this morning to do my daily reading of my emails. When change.org sent me an alert on Elle's cover of Indian Actress,Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.  The cover of her has been lighten so that when you first look at it she looks like a white red-haired woman. To me Aishwayra looks ugly on the cover. She herself is outraged and hate it. Elle is so disrespectful, unethical, hueist and racist to light skin brown skin actresses so they can be accepted by white mainstream society. Please help call them out on their bigotry and sign the petition or tweet their bigots. Are you tired of  seeing your brown skin color being erased by some white corporations because they think it is easier to accept light skin as white? Do you think Elle needs a mental health evaluation too like the shooter and hater Loughner- (yeah a stretch but Elle is part of the hate and visious cycle, which they can get away it b/c their the media).

Talk to me peeps!

Here is change.org link to sign the petition-www.change.org/petitions/view/tell_elle_magazine_to_apologize_for_s...

Who?
I was actually thinking "What's the big deal? North Indians are Caucasian i.e. white people and prefer light skin."

Doesnt she bleach her skin anyways?
Communities of color have ALL been influenced by White supremist beauty asthetics.  Most Indians DO want to be lighter.  But that does not excuse what that mag did.  As our sista stated in her post, the Indian actress hated what was done to her picture.  It happens too often.  I will be emailing a protect to Elle.  I don't read it.  But unfortunately, too many of our sistas of color do.  This negatively affects our children's image of self.  Peace, yall.

I don't know. There is a stark difference though I'll post the difference. Here is a photo of her

Here is a phot of Elle Mag's version of her

Now you decide? She's suing Elle Magazine anyways.

Here is another one but it's the inside cover of that mag. Huge  stark difference.

Here is a photo of her off her site. Ok I'll quit posting photos of her. Before I get too carried away

Does she do the plastic surgery? Her face looks like she's had a few nip and tucks....it's kind of ominous.

I don't know. Interesting question. I think some of the photos are retouched. Indian womyn do not have Caucasian type features though. So maybe not.

I'm a Fashionsta. No her skin wasn't lighten. That's the lights in the studio to show case the clothes. When you use flash on your camera your going to be two to three shades lighter then what you appare. You can tell in the blue picture they added water and tanner to make her standout. So why had tanner to an already so called dark skin girl. Do you see how silly that is.

Good analysis.
