... the other Black experience

So in the February Issue of Essence Magazine they featured Reggie Bush as the " What is your Fantasy?" and a lot of black women became upset that he was chosen as a black womens fantasy because he's dating Kim Kardashian. I mean they seems to be pretty up in arms about this. My thoughts on it are.... why does it matter? I get that he isn't dating a black woman and he may or may not marry one. But why is interracial relationships involing black men and women of another race such a bitter issue? I don't see white women, hispanic women, asian women or any woman for that matter of a different race as " stealing our men". I feel if they want to this outside of the box and be open minded and date and experience another culutre then they should be able to do that.

So that would be black men, period? That's pretty unattainable. The point was that many women did not feel like directing fangirl worship at a man they feel wipes his feet with black women and prefers the eurocentric ideal black female aesthetic over an actual black woman. His fantasy comes true yet they must still pine for him? Doesn't sound "equal".

The whole phenomenom of Black athletes and non Black spouses is worthy of discussion, but I think a key word is "fantasy". Even if Reggie Bush had never dated anyone but Black women, what are the real odds of any individual woman actually meeting, let alone getting with him in a long term relationship? A big part of many fantasies is wanting something you can't have.
But see that's where these discussions take a drastic fall. No one ever said Reggie Bush " wipes his feet with black women." or " prefers the eurocentric ideal black female aesthetic over an actual black woman.". I don't know about you but I know nothing about Reggie Bush but I doubt he's never dated a black girl and I doubt he's never dated a white girl. I just think he finds Kim Kardashian attractive, she's within the same social bracket as he is, but by no other means than her family has money. I think that even though a black man dates outside of his race doesn't mean he dispises the women within his race. I feel that sometimes black women can go off the deep end with how they rationalize a lot of things. I don't see why a black man dating outside his race is such a big issue in this day in time. If you're looking for a " good black man who dates only black women" I suggest taking an ad out in the paper becasue you'll find him faster than bitching about it in Essence Magazine.

What's funny about this is you like white girls too.

There is no rule that says anyone must pine for Reggie Bush or anyone else. If Reggie/Kim is so offensive, divest, express your distaste to Essence, so on and so forth. Nothing wrong with that at all.

What I'm saying is that tripping specifically on who RB is dating when you don't know him, don't have access to him and in a lot of cases aren't even in the same time zone as him is futile.
Did anyone notice that when Reggie wasn't with Kim you never heard his name? That's why he got back with her because he loves FAME, not KIM.

I suspect that might have more to do with the Super Bowl win. In the last few years, I’ve heard his name quite often – prior to the last football season, people down here were wishing scurvy on that dude. He didn't seem to be a popular guy amongst so-called Saints fans.
Once the superbowl dust settles, well hear the whole Kim n Reggie are getting married crap again. When he's up, she's out (meaning on perpetual hold) when he's down he goes back to her.
