AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED GRACE JONES. HER ENERGY, HER WEIRDNESS, HER STYLE, HER SONGS. AMONGST OTHER BLACK ARTISTS, SHE DOESN'T QUITE FIT IN ANYWHERE. CAN SHE BE CONSIDERED PUNK?

I love Grace Jones too, but you might want to move this discussion to the "Movies and Music" forum.
I don't think this will have much luck here.
unless she's a candidate for the 2012 election.
or has access to WMDs.
"CAN SHE BE CONSIDERED PUNK?"

If you think and feel she deserves to be punk, then she is.
Grace Jones used to scare the hell out of me as a child. I remember when i was about 4 or 5 years old she had a music video where her head was a garage and a fucking car drove into her mouth. The mouth closed and the head disappeared into the ground. Even at that age im sitting there going "what the hell?!?".....But is she punk...i supposed so. I guess its pretty punk rock to give birth to a bottle of perfume (Boomerang reference) Lol.....

I love that movie.

How about "My Jamaican Guy", did this video scare you?
