AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

Hello everyone, earlier today I came across a new term "hair chalking". Have any of you ever tried it? Pretty much it's using none oil base chalk to temporary color your hair. It seems so simple yet it's new to me. I watched some videos via Youtube today on it. The cool part is that there are some naturals who have done it and had great results. The key is buying vibrant colors. There is a particular brand that sells chalk especially for hair coloring, but most of the females on Youtube just use regular chalk sold at like a Michaels. I would just love to hear anyone's review or opinions on this. In the long run what effects did it have on your hair?

Chalking?  First I've heard of it.  The temporary color thing I remember hearing about when I was in college was using a paste made of our koolaid or jello.  Very temporary but just for fun.  I don't know if chalk has any bad long term effects, because it's already temporary coating your hair, not penetrating it like actual hair dye or even henna does.  Sounds interesting, I'd love to try as I do have natural hair.

What brand is it is specifically meant to be used on hair?

I remember watching some Youtube videos and a lot of chicks recommended a chalk that is sold at Michael's. They all said to make sure that it's not oil based.

I have never heard of it and I am tempted to try it. Sounds like fun and something to do when I am on vacation.
