Permalink Reply by Rosenda on November 22, 2011 at 4:52pm I used to use Stiff Stuff brand hairspray and then use a hot curling iron to straighten it up. I was relaxing my hair way back in those 8 years or so that I had a mohawk, so more often to spiking it straight up, I used to use that hairspray (I think they made a gel too but I never tried it), then pull each section straight a little bit then curl the ends.
After that I'd spray more hairspray to make it stay there. When I went to work, the night before I'd just use a brown coloured protein type gel (like Elasta QP "Elucent" gel), and roll my hair up, and when I un rolled it before I went to work, I'd pick the curls up where I wanted them, then sprayed it to hold. If I was out of Stiff Stuff hairspray, I'd use my backups of that Aqua Net Super Hold (in the purple label can) or the super hold Sebastian brand Shaper hairspray if I had it.
Good luck experimenting!! Send pictures!!!! :)
