AFROPUNK

... the other Black experience

Has anyone else noticed how downright racist and biased hipsters can be? They are rapidly taking over brooklyn ny I even saw a ton at afropunk last summer. They see a minority and either cross the street or walk fast. When they get on the train they wont sit next to you....they build cafes next to bodegas and treat the original residents a lil diff. I always get an uneasy elitist vibe from them. The train by my house is now full of snotty starbucks holding, deer hoof listening people who raid the corner store for tofu chips and petition to shut down hiphop venues in the neighborhood. The fuck? Its so annoying. Anyone else notice this

There is only one solution.

The only solution.

and that is a hipster holocaust.

Let that idea sit for a minute.

But seriously, I get what you're talking about, they are very annoying, condescending, hypocritical cluster of assholes. They stink and I don't like them.

lmao...that's a good one.

They are invading East London like the plague, and it has repercussions to those already living in the area:

*They make it cool/trendy to live amongst the disenfranchised without actually socialising with the disenfranchised; because they’re slightly ashamed of not being able to live in another area of London.

*They snap up cheap property, only adding to an already inflated housing market making it more difficult for ‘minorities’ to get on the housing ladder. Which means ‘minorities’ can’t pass down (to their children) wealth, a sense of belonging and whole bunch of other socially empowering commodities.

*Then they have the audacity to complain about the bars, clubs, artistic displays (graffiti) etc and petition for there closure and take away the very atmosphere that drew them to the area.

*Once the pleasures of the plebeian are taken away, they find other and much more destructive ways to occupy themselves. After all, the devil makes work for idle hands. In turn adding to the high crime and pregnancy rate (what else are they suppose to do?)

*The hipsters turn around and blame everyone else for the social disharmony without paying any attention to how they contributed to it.

I just wish I could find a way to break the cycle.
Fuck 'um.
They're like the fucking plague here in Memphis.
Same story in D.C. It's a hipster pandemic! Or maybe a yuppie one to be more precise.  D.C. ain't even Chocolate City no more as Blacks are no longer the majority here. Race definately plays a major part in this but I think class is just as important if not the bigger issue. I just try to find ways to maintain and get in where I fit it in. I "adapt". I ain't ready to be exiled to the suburbs yet like so many of my peers. Ironically I have a song about this exact issue. It's the first one on my profile.
Wait? Blacks are NO-LONGER the majority in DC?! I heard that DC was as much as 80% black!

You're welcomed here in Newport Beach, CA.  All the rich whites here blast gangsta rap from their parents' cars.  My funniest experience was last year when this one chick and her friend were blasting some rap "I gonna git me a white gurl" and these two were dancing and flashing gang signs out of her Escalade.  It drowned out my Evanescence CD.

Oh, it's going down everywhere. Chicago, DC, Brooklyn, LA, Oakland, London. Almost any major city with a black population is seeing a steady displacement of people.Hell, people from Germany are even buying homes in Detroit.

Segregation is alive and very well.Bye bye black people....hello hipsters.

PS- I remember way back in the day when somebody associated with this site was making the case that hipsters were really cool, just like mods back in the 60's. How's that working for ya now?
