... the other Black experience

How do you guys feel about the accomplishments of our president so far??????

It is the beginning of a new decade!!!! And undoubtedly most of the last one sucked!!!!! I think that this is a direct consequence of our previous leaders lack of concern for the people( Iraq ,gas prices, ,unemployment ,outsourcing ,etc..)...... but now we have new leaders and i would like to get the opinions of the progressive AP folks on how you guys think my man Obama is doing. Please be honest.....(although i love his swagger he has made me mad on more than on occasion!)

Embryonic stem cell research; jump starting the end of the war on drugs by not putting resources into enforcing federal marijuana laws in states where Old Lady Jane is legal; health care revolution ...

Dude has done a lot in a year. I think too many people were expecting a magic negro or that something awesome and incredible would happen to the world after his election and then got sorely disappointed when the sun set at its usual time. What he has accomplished so far beats anything Bush has done in 8 years because Obama is setting seeds for societal advancement rather than for a war whose agenda got cloudy. Just imagine the scientific and social gains in eight years if he is reelected. Shoot just him getting elected in the first place is a big A+ as it inspired countless people of colour - opened a new and powerful door of opportunity.
Totally agree with you. All that he was left with he has done a lot. It's always interesting to see white liberals talk about him finding things to criticize him about.
Yeah it's like people don't want to admit that Obama just saved our economy from totally collapsing, which by the way supports a good part of the entire worlds economy.

What did he do specifically to save the economy? From what I remember, the whole idea of bank bailouts and stimulus packages came from the Bush administration, is ,if you're going to give Obama credit for saving the economy, you would have to extend that credit ti Bush also(even though it was all his fault). My point being, is I don't think Obama deserves credit for someone else's idea.
Quite frankly, all of Obama's ideas for the economy is just window dressing. It's designed to appear as he is doing stuff, but all it's doing is just keeping the economy afloat while we all hope the economy recovers. Unemployment still remains high, and wages are decreasing while Wall Street is still doing the same thing it did before. Until there is a fundamental change in the way the economy is structured, we'll continue to suffer. Our economic recovery is tenuous at best.
He put someone else's idea into motion. He gets the credit. Its how the world works for the most part.

Done nothing....He talks a good talk though so the american sheeple we be satisfied(or atleast they would have if he was white)
Obama's just a puppet, a pawn in the game.
I have no respect for the man, or any president after JFK, for that matter.

WTF did JFK do? This is a man who sat and watched the civil rights movement happen right in front of him. He put in some legislation, but that was only after white American racism and brutality started being broadcasted to the whole world. The  Bay of Pigs was a mess and he lucked out during that cold war fiasco. He was a nice guy, he had good ideas but like many presidents, he didn't do much. Case in point being that he's remember more for being shot than any of his policies.

And I only make these arguments because you put him as a benchmark for an effective American President.

Realistically, considering what he's come into, Mr. Obama has done a pretty good job.

This is what you're saying: As I watched the ship sink, I felt proud that I wasted no energy trying to plug the hole in its side.

You know being apolitical is just lazy. You could just be an independent because then at least you would have a voice. It doesn't mean you agree with one side or the other, it just means you've taken the time to be conscious of the issues around you. Because unless you live in another country, and even regardless of that for a lot of issues, the things that American politicians do will affect you.

Yes he is. That I agree!! It's how he say that he's gonna do something. It turns out thet he's full of fucking flaws. That's why I rather be apolitical because all this with him and other is full of BS. No I did'nt vote for him or any other prsident, don't matter what color they are. I been apolitical since I was a youngster and nothing that can do to change that.

I feel he has accomplished nothing monumental. I'm a Clinton fan, always will be, because he came into office and started putting shit into action; welfare programs, reducing debt and poverty etc. Obama hasn't done anything huge, especially for black people. Its a disappointment really. Obama was way overhyped during the election time, and although i like him because of his eloquence and he is a really down to earth guy, but I just feel like he could have done more than he has.

I could careless bout what obama is doing. as I read the comment its evident that if a president helps the people too much you get shot in the head or they send a fat bitch to suck him off. the bail outs do nothing  and did nothing, unemployment compensation only last so long. the WARs haha. the troops in Iraq are guarding gas stations and in Afghanistan they guard poppy fields. Send the elite units to pull the trigger is a slap in the face to all the people around the world that died as results of 9/11. GE lined obama pockets, GE poison the environment and obama gives them tax breaks. Obama is trying not to catch hell from the real powerful people.

As i watched MSNBC some fat face Latino who wants to be white said that Pailin has learned from the last election and who be a better president than Obama, all the responses from the people in that discussion was "WOW". give the Irishman credit for trying to ease the world tension, but his actions are not in the people best intentions. Black people need to see this but most are color blind cause all they say its about time we have a black president. all in all he is doing a better Public relations job than the last puppet.

I can't say I'm disappointed in Obama as I didn't vote for him. Considering he is now talking about the possibility of cutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid to appease these Teabag party insurrectionists makes me more likely to not vote for him again come 2012.
