I've pasted this all over the place, and I'm hoping you guys can help. If we all stick together as a community, I really think we can not only pull this off, but make it grand.
Sure, we could make this happen in louisville without involving the kick-ass motherfuckers from the board, but it wouldn't be the same. This is a community and it makes sense for us all to be involved. Check out what I've written below, and let me know if you have any thoughts, suggestions, or if you'd like to get directly involved!!!

Let’s do some DIY Ass-kicking!
Hey Afropunkers, I’ve got a plan, and in order for it to work, I need your help.
I have a fantastic venue lined up for a holy-shit-kick-ass event in the spring of 2010: Afropunk @ Art Sanctuary!!!
We’re going to show the AfroPunk film! We’re going to invite James Spooner down to talk about the movie. We’re going to book a couple of your favorite Afropunk bands as well as some local AP faves from our region. We’ll have art for sale, and live graffiti artists! Everything!!
Yeah, you heard me right. I’m planning on doing a smaller-scale Afropunk event here in Louisville, KY! Something for the AP’ers over here near Cincy, Louisville, Chi-town, Indy, Nashville & Memphis.
In order to make it happen, we need all kinds of help.
Foremost, we need sponsors for the event. If you own or know of any businesses who would like to get their name on our materials, shown on the screen, and get mad coverage in exchange for sponsorship of our event, that would be extremely helpful. Also if anyone has services to donate, such as web design & hosting, printing or anything else, that would be great too!
Right now we have the grand scheme of things posted up as several blog entries at
http://afropunkatartsanctuary.tumblr.com and you can check out the marketing plan so far as well as what we’re aiming to do at the event.
If you have any questions, hit me up at oreobarbie@gmail.com!
Thanks so much for reading, and please pass on the word! Show the website to other people.
