... the other Black experience

Hey...okay so my homeboy, he got upset with me because I don't call him like I should..."So he assumed"...& I replied to him...I'm sorry I'm in class & lab 12 hours a day & even more...I'll call you soon, just please give me time to chill & get myself together...All the time he wants me to call him as soon as I arrive home from a long day...& I tell him I'm tired...I just don't know what to do...should I cut him loose?...but the problem is I'm really feeling him, but I don't want to push him away...b/c I'm not quite ready for a "relationship"...I don't know

Hmm...okay. You have a taxing if not busy schedule. He should understand that. Unless he's bad for you, don't cut him loose. Give him a quick text saying you're getting in and you'll call him within 30-45 minutes. The point is compromise.
Here's Junie Girl:

You'd better get this part straightened out, or else you and your guy are gonna be two unhappy people.
Let him know 'If you want to be able to get to know me, I need time to chill. After I get that I will call you.' If he can't give you that, then you might consider a downgrade.

Going on just what you said JunieGirl, I agree with GP. It's a good compromise. You can even program a "I'm home, call you (insert chill time and nickname here). then it's like 2 or 3 button pushes and you're done, free to chill. If you're really feeling him, sometimes it's the little seemingly unimportant gestures that let people know you care without sacrificing your own needs. imo.
There's nothing worse than a clingy brother. If he can't understand that you're busy and can't find other ways to occupy his free time, then its just not going to work right now for ya'll. Sometimes the timing just doesn't work.
O_o Shouldn't HE be the one calling you mostly, not the other way around? But even then, he sounds like he can't calm down and let you have your day go smoothly. That man needs to slow it down. Wow.
Oh god. I dated someone who did that calling crap when I kept telling him that I was busy at school. Ewwl bad memories. I had to dump the guy b/c he kept calling and ruining my mood and not trusting in the fact that I wouldn't cheat on him with a college guy.
I dunno why in the hell I was doing with him for so long. I never loved the bitch and he was clingy :P Ewwl yuck!

^ I don't think so MER. She has the busy schedule, so besides being a whiny bitch he'll also be bothering her during school.
yeah...I agree

If you really feeling him, TELL him so directly. AND tell him sometimes you need chill time ALONE. Tell him he needs to understand that about you. If he can't understand you saying it to him so basic and clearly, then you have to seriously think if you can put up with the calling problem anymore. Peace and good luck, Junie Girl.
