Interesting.  I don't know if I can answer all but I'll try a few:

.)  SUPERFREAK by Rick James --- It sticks because it was so clearly racy and popular.  This one short Jewish girl Phyliss knew every word to this and would sing it daily at the bus stop.

.)  (still waiting... ;> )

.)   OPEN ARMS by Journey --- I went to the 6th grade dance and I recall they played nothing but white pop.  A few of us Black students asked the DJ's if they had Micheal, Rick, Grandmaster Flash and they looked at us kind weird & sorry at the same time.  They played "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" and they went crazy dancing in the center of the floor.  When the played Open Arms, this girl Robyn who was as tall as me asked me dance and I did, very nervously.  Good times...

.)  (see #2)

.)  I forget exactly but all I listened to was Prince's SIGN O' THE TIMES. I had tape on my prom with 'Slow Love' and 'Making Love in the Rain' on it.  More aspirational than inspirational...

.)  ROCK THE CASBAH --- Only true punk one I can think of.  There are a few rock ones; PURPLE HAZE by Jimi and YOUNG LUST by Pink Floyd, that sorta sums it up.

.)  When my father died I listened to TELEPHONE by Erykah Badu and that helped out.  When I thought I would never graduate from college and was really down, I listened to HOLD YOUR HEAD by Showbiz & AG over and over and that seriously inspired me to succeed.  I aced my last final after that, thanks Show & Andre.

.)  Jeezzz...I would say see #2 again but...I don't know, get back to me on that...

.)  & 10.) (see above)

.)  THIS XMAS by Donny Hathaway (of course) and The Whispers version.  Sweet sounds even to the non-religious like me.

.)  FOLLOW THE LEADER by Eric B. and Rakim & NIGHT OF THE LIVING BASEHEADS by Public Enemy.  Heard them both at the Spectrum in '88 and could barely make out a word but I knew they were dope.  All I remember was "I bless the Gods, the Earths and bomb the rest".  Also FENCEWALK  by Mandrill.  Heard them at a club when they reunited in the early '90's and the horns, other instruments and vocals knocked me the hell out.

.)  gotta get back on that, there are a few...

.)  Maaannnn...umm, I don't know, STEPPING RAZOR from Peter Tosh?  Haunt folk after I'm gone: If you want to live, than treat me good...

.)  Wowww...hmmm... may be a recent song...

.)   Hmmm...FOR MY VERY OWN by The Sylvers (beautiful) or LOVE ALWAYS by El DeBarge (if i got married, I'd want this as the theme).
