I've been following the story off and on since it was breaking news.  Few random thoughts...nothing really profound or post-worthy.  I guess one was "If you have a mass of people in the midst of an uprising you really think anybody gives a fuck about a curfew?"

The people have got to get him out of there NOW. Otherwise, as people fear, Mubarak will be all smiles until the heat dies down. Then, the bloody hunt for those involved in the uprising will begin. I can only hope this will not be another Iran circa 2009 where the uprising eventually quells and then nothing has really changed. However, now that Mubarak's goons are out on the streets beating people up, it looks like the use of bloody force has already begun.

eh fuck that picture tho...

obama's response is underwhelming.  its not simple.  the us's glory days have past.  good.  violence is so unnecessary.  and i think the "pro mubarack" goons are acting in their own interests or according to the bidding of his son.  who knows.  i'm excited. i think it's going to be good for the region.  fuck israel still... if cairo becomes a veritable democracy it'll be nice.

this won't be iran 2009 or iran 1979.

yemen might become iran 1979 tho.

i think mubarak and other politicians who are promising to not run for reelection is ok... it's true that perhaps if they leave too soon the gov't will be too disorganized, but who can you trust when these autocrats keep fucking around and sabotaging sincere starts towards real change. blah...

the diplomats' rhetoric is actually pretty decent as portrayed by NPR coverage--where the US is open to working w/ islamists and see a place for islamists in a vibrant political landscape.  also the acknowledging that the egyptian ppl have to choose and run their own governments.  the american role if any is to support stability in the region.

i hate these pro-mubarak mobs though... just give it up assholes. damn.

I just got a IM from my friend in Alexandria. She says it is true that people are in the streets but she is ok. As far as what everybody else in the world is doing in this situation I'm glad everybody is staying the fuck out of it. Egyptians need to settle this themselves for better or for worse. Mubarak may or may not leave but that is for the Egyptian people to decide. Regardless the there are always unintended consequences to this sort of action. Hopefully there will not be wide spread hunger or saber rattling from different factions as they jockey for power.

As an aside The lady in the picture does not look Egyptian and her hijab is not the sort that is common in Egypt. Where did you find that photo?

This.

I googled Mubarak israeli puppet images. It's looks pretty authentic to me. But that's beside the point, anyways. The main message ov the photo is clearly true. Mubarak is an Israeli puppet, among other things.

So the Mubarak/CIA thugs are beating international reporters, in many cases handing them over to the gestapo secret police.

Democracy will be great for our Arab cousins. For so long Israel, the west and its Godless Arab dictators have oppressed it's people. Hopefully the Arab people can choose there own destiny. I too have been following this story on Al Jazeera a channel all Blacks should watch in place of CNN, BBC, FOX NEWS. Arabs/Africans must rule themselves and do what works for them. As African Americans it our racial and moral duty to stand with them. We have been suffering for years. This is what Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey spoke of unity and working together and helping each other.

The flag you see here is the flag of Libya. It is the same color is the Black Nationalist Flag. These colors are all over the Arab world. They are Brothers in Blood and Arms.

Yeah, hopefully Lybia will be the next to fall. But not before things get waaay worse, it looks like.
