of course, I was arguing those same exact points about 5 years ago
but ya know what bottom line is just because I believe obama needs to get people that are plotting against the US and planning to kill thousands of more innocent people where ever they can
DOES NOT translate into me justifying anything the US has done foreign policy wise. Killing innocent people is never justified no matter what was done to your people in the past or is continuing in the present, you dont have the right to kill innocent people. you shouldnt make excuses for people like that

Has it ever occurred to you that these "Terrorist"/ "Insurgents" don't just come up out of the desert in a vaccum? Do you realize that our past and current actions is what motivates these groups to be formed in the first place. Do you realize everytime we support Israel in their bombings on their neighbors we give more and more reasons for "terrorist to form. It is not about a "good will ambassador" it is about getting out of the middle east and stop, imperializing ,supporting Israels killing, sending economic hitmen and killing up innocent civilians. No one is justifying terrorism, but to think these people are just doing becuase of religions or whatever silly reason is ridiculous and the bottom line is we need to just keep our hands out of Muslim countries.

But you've got part of it wrong, Bush was giving the Pakistani government room to police their own borders because that was what they wanted. The Pakistanis did not want our military running all up and through their mountains. Bush gave them a chance to get these groups but it wasnt as easy as grab em and go. The insurgent groups know the mountains very well and they're all caught up in the politics of the region meaning local leaders are protecting them. Eventually Bush realized that the job wasnt getting done so he STARTED the bombing campaign in Pakistans border region. He did it without the approval or the Pakistanis. Obama is just continuing what Bush started, which was go after the right people who are guilty for 9/11 about 7 years too late

Our leaders DO need to reevaluate our relationship with Israel though. America's support of their terrorism and America's fucked up foreign policy and intervention in the affairs of Middle Eastern countries is the reason the nation was attacked in the first place. I'll be glad to see us backing out of Iraq. I don't blame the Iraqi insurgents at all actually. Many of them weren't even "extremists" or terrorists until Bush invaded. They just want their damn country back. As for Al Qaeda in Iraq, the new government should handle it. I don't imagine Sunni Al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq being too successful operating with an empowered Shia majority in Iraq without a U.S. presence to keep them busy. Which exposes another problem... Sunni/Shia fighting in Iraq. That is something the new Iraqi government needs to handle. If America actually wants to be fair about it... we should just let them have at it and kill each other and let the country go into chaos. (not saying that's what should happen) BUT based on the examples of how the U.S. has treated political turmoil and violence between people of darker skin in the CARIBBEAN and AFRICA... that's how they should treat the Sunni/Shia conflict in Iraq as well. It would only be fair, right?
(That's another topic though...)

But we can't just back out of the Islamic world entirely, thinking "if we just leave, maybe they'll just leave us alone." Because the true Islamist extremists and terrorists will not. At this point its crucial that this administration continue to go after the terrorist groups where they are strongest, and right now that happens to be in the borderlands of Afghanistan/Pakistan.
