Here's something new I want to do, you guys could add something too...

 

First, The UMC's Fruits of Nature. These guys might look like Native Tongue rejects, but they produced one of my favorite hip hop records with 1991's Fruits of Nature. Staten Island MC's Haas G and Kool Kim had a "wu-tang flow" years before anyone had ever heard of Method Man or The RZA. But now that I think about it, what probably made this album so distinctive were the deep, Northern Soul and jazz samples. Check it out...

Next, Johnny Rotton's post-Sex Pistols project Public Image Ltd. has been the object of much controversey over the years, but there's not much debate over what their finest moment was, that's 1979's Metal Box. With it's droning guitars, music concrete and deep dubby bass courtesy of Jah Wobble, Metal Box still holds up today as a great album...
