Otakon 2009 (pics)
I recently attended (the last two days of) the Otakon Convention in Baltimore, MD. Whenever I go to this thing, I'm amazed at the creativity of all the cosplayers . I was especially excited for all of the cosplayers and con-goers of color that seemed to be all over the place. I (naturally) took as many pics as I could manage to without looking creepy.

I've been going to cons since about 14. The last time I was at Otakon was like '05. In fact, I'm thinking about checking out Katsucon.

I was there! Otakon seemed crazier this year. I've been going there for 6 years now and I think this year was the first where I was just totally and utterly exhausted by the end, but that could've been due to the people I went with. One thing that I have noticed over the years is how every year there seems to be more and more black cosplayers (heck, that there are more black people attending period). I remember when it was just me and my friends and maybe a couple other folks doing it. It makes me all warm and fluffy inside to see it.

That's one aspect of Japanese culture I find icky and cannibalistic. Which is a big reason I'm not longer into Japanese culture. It's veiled misogyny is far worse than the west's.
No wonder there are so many 2D loves out there; females are dolls to collect. The more pre-pubescent, the better.
