post-punk, no-wave, proto-punk, mutant disco and pretty much anything that resembles this music or is a close releative to it like early synth-pop and some new wave.  if it's three guys with the same instruments as any other rock band but their basically creating some thing that sounds like an audio abstract painting with existential jibber-jabber scrawled on top than i'll probably be into it.

Hmm...

Noise-Punk

Hardcore

Post-Hardcore

Proto-Punk

Post-Punk

Old school punk

Psychobilly

Cowpunk

I would say the same nowadays especially this le label des "groupes morts"

post punk

no wave

"proto punk"

synth/electronic noise & "dance" that's heavily influenced by punk and metal

a lot of post-punk and hardcore. Occasionally psychobilly.
