AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

So there i was minding my own business, when some guy comes up to me and says: 'You look kinda cool, a bit different.' I responded by saying that  my interest were varied etc. He then went on to ask about my piercings (he noticed my ears), which then led to asking me where else, with a stupid smirk on his face. I knew what he was getting at. Obviously, I kissed my teeth and walked away. He was shocked to get such a 'black girl' response from me.

Have you ever come across a guy/girl who is punk/rocker curious?
They seem to be especially excited because I'm black but if a white/asian rocker walked by they wouldn't even notice.
It would be like seeing a purple apple for the first time- I haven't had one of you before, I think I'll give it a try.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

yeah that happens to my boyfriend alllllll the time. i have no piercings yet sooo lol...it's hilarious !
Got a lot of "I've never met a Black skater before" but that was the late eighties when we weren't so common. I passed on a lot of, uh "short term relationships" back then.
yea that happens all the time i dont have its all about the riped clothes, and the big kinky afro for me i get it alot from gangs so i just dont let ignorant fucks bring me down i just keep walking
I get it from time to time, particularly from black females who are just curious about me. They never really say anything offensive to me. I guess they think I'm cute or something. They just ask about my piercings and style of dress. It's funny because they'll ask me "Is you gothic?" or "What are you?"(In reference to my style of dress) or something else along those lines, and I just tell them that I am just me, that's all. It used to bother me but not anymore because I've grown to accept the fact that a lot of people are conditioned to believe that black people are supposed to dress and talk a certain way, and maybe they just don't know any better. I have had times, though, where people have been blatantly rude to me, shit like "he's a satanist" or "he's a fag" or "he thinks he's white and too good for us" and other things by miserable people. These tend to be other guys who get jealous 'cause girls have shown me more attention than them, and so they get angry and hate on me. It used to bother me, but now I just feel sorry for them 'cause they are so ignorant & insecure.
Not so much looks per se it's more about my interests.
Yea. I used to get attention from black dudes cause they thought that because I was "different"...meaning they thought I was some super freak in the bedroom and would have freaky ass sex with them and their friends. From white dudes, it's usually that they want to have their "black experience" and I'm a "safe black" (black, but into white people shit).

Some people try damn hard to put you in a box. It's like it interrupts the neurons and makes them say dumb s^!t.

And what's up with that 'gay' comment. A lot of 'alternative' guys get that. Seriously, I wish they'd be more creative.
