= If heaven or a multiple orgasm for your tongue could be out into a meal, it would be the one I just had. Tofu burger with side salad & special house dressing, vegetable oil fried onion rings and a vanilla bean milkshake, all vegan no eggs or milk from Soul Vegetarian. Been too long since I had one and it's another reason I love ATL like I do (I believe they have other restaurants in DC and beyond). I am sprung again, life is damn good.
= ABOUT TIME DAMNIT ! Finally got a temp job working at BestBuy for the holidays. Glad somebody understood how valuable an asset I can be to their retail goals. They're gonna keep me afterwards, I'm gonna see to that. Of course the pay is garbage but I'm in beggar not chooser position right, no complaints. Now I can observe the consumers I want to sell to later and continue my real plans. Gotta try to not spend all my checks there, ha.
Glad to be working, shit.

= Spent less than a yard (actually under $50) on holiday gifts for the fam. All bought at the rare indie Black music store in ATL that still sells quality cds and mags; got my WaxPoetics from there, forget B & N (I dig ya but gotta support my people first).
Jingle ballz, Happy ChanuKwanzaaEidXmasNuevoAno to all!
Ho-ho-ho ya damn self...
^^^ yo Cafe' Negro is dope! I like how they shot the video against that mad vast space of desert.
= I got two double albums, one had the price of a single. The Last Poets "The Last Poets" debut and "This Is Madness" which features bonus tracks from underground album Hustler's Convention's Lightning Rod (with a song featuring Jimi Hendrix on guitar).
Also got the original complete Wildstyle soundtrack for the cult classic pioneering Hip Hop film "Wildstyle". What makes this so significant is that it includes the original instrumental album the DJ'splayed and emcees rapped over in the movie. It was composed in part by Blondie's own leader Chris Stein with Fab 5 Freddy & director Charlie Ahearn co-producing. My college roommate got this on wax in the late 80's but I never saw it again; I thought it was a fantsy record I made up. I got it now, yeah!
Permalink Reply by Rosenda on January 28, 2013 at 7:26pm Wild Style soundtrack? Woooow. Speaking of Wild Style, I got a good deal on a huge book of photos and stuff from the Wild Style filming, at our work's book sale a couple months ago. I go to those things and the tall dude in the store saw me coming and pointed out several great books at dirt cheap prices (and dvd's too, several on various graffitti artists). Excellent stuff.

Are you still working there?
Nah the holiday season ended so it's some "we'll call you" stuff so I'm movin' on. I did get a line on another really good gig if it comes through; fam wish me luck!
And Rosenda that sale sounds on point, those are the ones you take advantage of, glad you got it. Nothing beats a real bound book especially photo/art books; I missed Glen Ligon coming to the High Museum here but I may get one of the signed copies later.

I wanted to say thanks to MM and Jocelyn for stopping in and saying hi and hugs after meeting with the other folks here.
I appreciated it greatly, it was a nice Surprise!
I like surprises. Always good to see people you learn something positive from.
And another rave..........the other day Facebook, I saw something Jahluv posted about the Grand National roadster car show, someone here besides me now has heard the great voice of Vicky Tafoya. She is AWESOME and what a truly beautiful strong singer. Good to be reminded of her.........I must go see her sing at least once this year.
Rave 3, the sun is in the window, its' warm, it's not raining, I made myself a cup of coffee which I am going to enjoy, and then later on me and coworkers are going to meet an old buddy who used to work across the hall from us in the old building, a man who makes us LAUGH no matter what in life. It'll be fun!
