Morgan Heritage, Sugar Minott, Black Uhuru, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Mutabaruka, Bob Marleys "Catch A Fire", Screechy Dan, Pato Banton, Eek A Mouse, Shabba Ranks, Barrington Levy, Richie Spice, Etana, Lady Saw, Judy Mowatt, Sister Carol, Ken Boothe, Jacob Miller (the collection cd is awesome selection), Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas, Vybez Cartel, Joe Higgs, The Mighty Diamonds. That's a good start.

Just from the artists you mentioned I believe you're looking for more roots?  With my limited knowledge:

= Burning Spear

= Toots & the Maytals

= Mighty Diamonds

When I get hold of the WaxPoetics reggae issue, I'll have some names you might dig. I really dig the 'Rasta Business' and 'Strange Things' you picked.

Mighty Diamonds are great! I saw them live once, me and my sister, at this spot that used to be in Santa Monica, called Kingston 12. Loooooove their harmonies and songs, Doc.

Toots and The Maytals, they have lots of my fave songs, the early stuff like Six And Seven Books and lter stuff like Rastaman. That song is sweet. Love Toots Hibberts voice.

Luciano and Max Romeo are great too. Poor and Simple, and Chase The Devil . Yeah!!
Thanks to both of you.
