AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Jimmy Cliff backing singer Geraldine Connor died last week.

But she was much much more. She was a renowned and well respected Leeds based theatre director, an ethnomusicologist, an academic and musical director, with credits including the wonderful Carnival Messiah.

She was a tornado, with the creativity, determination and energy of a small nation. She will be sorely missed and the creative community in Yorkshire has lost a great standard bearer.

If anyone knew her work or is interested in what they see in the links please say.

Rest in peace Geraldine.
