AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Rap/Hip Hop,

You may not be a fan of it but you hear it whether its in the streets, the mall, the radio, or a family member of friend, etc.

Have you guys noticed that most mainstream Rap/Hip Hop songs are starting to have more of a techno beat? I mean is true Rap/Hip Hop really dead? I feel a big shift in that part of the music industry.

I even read an article on it.

Not fully dead..you have good artist still out there like childish gambino, cool kids, roth the list goes on. But I think as long as you have rap songs about the norm ( killing, hos, drugs ect) the genre of hip hop will slowly fade away. I remember when I use to listen to 'rap song makers' (not artists) and I never really liked the music because it was unnecessarily dark and talked about things that I wanted at the time but knew they were unattainable like expensive cars, attractive(not really though) females, and lots of money but woke up out of the dilution and realised the majority of youth want to live the same life backed by corporate innuendo (thats a different topic altogether). But I say you want to revive MUSiC as a whole wake the masses up tell them to be individuals, change their diets and let go of materialism then ignorance would eventually die along with the music but until we take all of this brainwashing illuminati bs which ties along with the norm for rap, the music will get super corny or die. One of them has taken place one is slowly happening.

I think it's moving in a good direction, at least out here in the east bay. I took a long break in the early 00s when it changed to guys like DMX bellowing over crappy beats about their cars and platinum.

Started really liking what's coming out now, everything from Das Racist to Why? and Hymies Basement. The whole move away from Hyfie to Jerk is refreshing to see.

Even Lil B and Tyler the Creator are trying something experimental, even if I don't like their lyrics.

nah those people soldout to push lyrics and videos with occult corporate messages, sorry.

are you replying to me?

who specifically did I mention that's doing 'occult corporate messages?'
