i haven't watched it enough to really have an opinion tbh... but when i do watch it i pay more attn to the women and their messy storylines. interesting take on hamlet tho, i suppose.

What do you like/dislike about this show?

I love that the whole club is made up of "that guy" actors! Guys you always see playing henchmen or something, but you never knew their names. It's definitely another one of those escapist crime drama type shows where you really shouldn't be rooting for any of the major characters, but . . . .

Do you like or relate to any specific characters? Why?

you can relate to them. They still believe in certain relationship dynamics, the idea of family, and even when they stab each other in the back, to see how they go about forgiving one another and moving past things you would think were unforgivable, it does kind of make sense in a twisted sort of way. I think I relate to Hale, though, the most. I''ve always been the goodie two-shoes type, but I try to see both sides of an argument the best I can. Hale struggled with that a lot this past season, and it's made for some serious growth in his character.

Does it make you more interested in 1% bike clubs or motorcycles in general?

I already had a casual interest in bike clubs, and I'm wondering if they'll ever show, I guess, the "crotch rocket" bike clubs, as there seems to be a pretty clear divide between those types of clubs and the Harley/chopper set.

No one in the whole club sells or does crank?
Even within the more crime-based bike club, some of them are pretty strict about things like that, Some will do guns AND drugs, some will just do one or the other.

How can you drive a flatbed tow truck through a motel wall, draw guns on bounty hunters and take their charge without the cops being called? There aren't any security cams at the motel? Plus they had their colors on and no ski masks?

Yeah, you got me on that one.

The Sons have taken out how many Mayans but the two clubs haven't broken out in all out war?

Circumstances being what they were in season two, outright retaliation for a few members wasn't worth risking all their territory, which they'll probably eventually lose anyway after their deal with Zobell blew up in their faces.

Opie threatens an ATF agent point blank, no ski mask, and then leaves her the clip? And then is not arrested?
'Cause she knew damn well that she got his wife killed. She had to know framing Opie would force Clay to retaliate, so she knew full well SOMEONE was gonna die. But she obviously hasn't learned her lesson, 'cause all her scheming to get the Irish gunrunners has led to Jax's son being kidnapped. She killed that IRA dude's son in cold blood (I dont care if he kneed her in the twat, he was running away, and she shot him in the back!), then framed Katey Segal's character, who actually saved her skin by taking out Zobell's daughter (who was more than ready to shoot her anway). That ain't gansta. That's a straight up bitch move.

That ATF lady is SCARY and DISTURBING. Seriously bitter and evil. She's great.
Jax is HOT. Katey Segal and Ron Perlman are EXCELLENT in their roles and very intense.
LOVE that Mitch Pileggi and Henry Rollins (you know I love me some Rollins anyway) because they are scary psycho disturbing racist crazies portrayed to the fullest. I figure any actor/actress that gets a strong reaction out of me is very talented and doing great.

I enjoy the overall story, dude it's like a biker soap opera. Even the very intense scary disturbing violent stuff within the story elements is great because it does not sugar coat anything that may or may not happen in theory within the lifetimes and experiences of a serious biker gang.

I get all kinds of wrapped in this, ALMOST as much as I did with the series The Wire.

That was a trip when Jax and his stepdad got into the fight. Ouch!! And when the others intended to kill Opey but instead killed his wife. That was AWFUL. But then it was rather touching when they all banded together when Katey's character admitted to her husband and her son what REALLY happened and who was responsible. There are SO many good and fascinating aspects to the various stories. Even that old cop dude who grew up with the Biker mom and wants to help out sometimes is sweet.

jax IS hot.
i think the references are bouncing between macbeth and hamlet. the gang's leader isn't jax's father, but jax is heir-apparent and in a power struggle with him and angsty over what should/could be done. plus peggy bundy's character isn't completely toxic like lady macbeth.

I suspect the hammer of RICO will be brought down on Samcro in the future. In addition to the motel ep mentioned before, you have the following loose ends...

Murder witness from Oakland that was going to be killed but was instead sent running w/ a handful of cash.
Rollins' character's son who could definitely ID Opie and Jax as his father's killer.
security cam footage of Sons busting into Zobell's church gathering. Weapons were recovered at that bust.
(security) cam footage of Sons administering a beatdown to Tom Arnold and crew.
telling the bullet making Indians that "they sell guns" with their colors on.
Murder of skinhead guy by Otto in the big house. The guy that plays Otto is actually the writer of the show.

In some of the other cases that have been brought against 1% clubs, the RICO charges were hard to make stick. It usually gets argued that the members were acting on their own as opposed to being agents of the club.

It will be interesting to see what happens next season.

Yeah, The show's creator, Kurt Sutter is also married to Katey Segal in real life. And he's very much into the biker culture, so he's got plenty of folks to draw reference from.

Can't wait to see what they've got planned for next season. I do wanna see some black bike clubs in the mix at some point.

^^^ I wouldn't mind showing the Black MC's (Wheels of Soul / East Bay Dragons steelo) if I didn't think they would do some cornball patronizing crap. Otherwise just do the white thing.
I will give that they showed dude in the pen (the show's creator?) form a necessary alliance with the one brother to take out the nazi skinhead. That was gangsta and realistic to me, they ain't gotta be buddies to handle business like with the Crip-type gang.

What do folks think of Rollins character? I got into it on imdb.com with a bunch of white male cheerleaders who were celbrating that he "went out hard". My perspective was he went out humble on some bullcrap "stop sntiching' stuff because that was all he was about. He had blind loyalty to a group and ideals that didn't back him. I believe the writers and Rollins was trying to show how deluded this character was and that there ain't no blaze of glory in some fantasy race war. Dude went out like Elvis sitting on the can. Still some fools crowed about "he went out like a soldier!" blah blah. Whatever...

Oh and I like the show, missed the whole first season. The cliffhanger was excellent.

I actually realize that I can't really demand the show feature black bike clubs, but I do wonder if they would ever do it. I can accept it if they never do. (I actually liked the movie Biker Boyz, for cryin' out loud!)

Yeah, that "he went out like a soldier" idea is utter bullshit. He sat down, put his head in his hands, in full realization that he had lost everything; had had no leader to follow, and his children were taken from him. He went out like a wounded animal, ready to be put out of his misery.

You know, I actually think they would feature some black biker clubs as a storyline involvement.
I am just so impressed seriously by the depth of the stories and the intensity of the acting and all that alone, ain't nothing would surprise me. Bring it on Sons of Anarchy, bring it on!! CE must I add again, the portrayal of that ATF lady scares the triplescaryhellabitchen everything out of me, she reeeeeally is disturbing. Well acted, I must say!!

Samcro Loose Ends revisited. New season starts next week. Adding on to the previous ones listed...

Giving the Russian mob at least 5 digits of fake money?

Likely being caught on hotel security cam with their colors on leaving a double murder scene. Jax touched the body.

The videotaped torture murder of the Danzig lookalike in the Belfast chapter. Where's that tape at?

1 dead and 1 missing ATF agent  in a podunk town like Charming???? Reinforcements with microscopes are on the way.

  Dude SOA is my show!!! Granted there are some elements of the show that are questionable when it comes to being realistic. But other than that I think the show itself is well put together.

 

Some things that I like about the show is:

 

Jax is fuckin' fine (just had to get that out there)

 

I love the fact that there's a slight Hamlet element to it.

 

Katy Sagal's character is a strong female lead. And to be perfectly honest she is the one that really has the run of the place.

 

The only thing that disappointed me was that there was no black biker gang. Though when they showed a scene where SAMCRO went to the One-Niners turf, their bar seemed to have a biker club feel to it.
