... the other Black experience

i can't possibly be the only one. what do you like to wear, where do you like to shop, what inspires you to get dressed in the morning? i am really interested! after all it isn't as shallow as people make it seem, it's still a form of art and expression.

Lol yes. I look crazy trying to tiptoe walk over grass hoping my heels don't get covered in crap. I gets looks mostly from my boyfriend but who gives a fuck?, not I, not I ;-]

HATE that! Like those formal events that always seem to happen when the grass is filled with morning dew. Now I always make sure to wear these plain black patent heels I have and wipe them off when I get inside. But if the shoes are suede I'm screwed.

I have all these cheapy shoe and clothes shops on Ebay bookmarked/saved. Totally day dreaming about spring fashion. But I must find something to do with my hair. I lack creativity.
girl not more than me. i wear hats all the time i am too lazy to do my hair. when i did the big chop in august it was easy for me to just wash and go. now i actually HAVE to do it since it's grown so much since then, ugghh. i just wear a beanie or something i'm so low maintenance with my bush. summer is coming though so i plan to wear it out....as in wash it and wear it out lol. styling + humidity is a no no. besides a freshly washed crazy bush is cool for summer :D

Yeah, but we like what we like, confidence and enjoying of what your wearing shines through the most I think. "They" might think i look like a dic or have fallen for their "make you look stupid" tricks but what you project when you rocking the hell out of it is what most will see. but thats just me and what i think

Nowadays I never really have too much of a problem with me and my (jacked up) hair ;-] I play with it like I do with me shoes and clothes right now my only problem is my foundation fucking with the white in my hair when I get sweaty. heh

I take inspration from things I love Storm and Rouge from the x-men comics anime characters I had an obsession with having hair like Elvis too, when I see women with an Elvis do or the male rockabilly style my eyes pop examining every aspect of what she done to achive this and what variations I would bring... lol I might have a problem.

My "hair" has also been one of the things about me that makes people laugh or stare or say thats kinda cool, the last one happens the least.

Have fun with it.

I've always loved natural styles esp (dread)locks
i'm obsessed with locs. i want them but i don't want the commitment lol but i admire others with locs esp when it's so neat and long <3

lol same here, love em when they don't stink. some guys use locks as an excuse to not wash their hair for months. Itchy nasty

I couldn't endure for that long without a wash (I can barely last a week before I get antsy). Feels great when wind blows across my scalp half-wet.

I do have a habit of tearing the buds off the ends of my locks when the shapes fascinate me. That leaves the lock open, and lint tries to get all up in there. Annoying as fuck.

While I'm not really into fashion, I find that sometimes people can be a little outlandish (especially in this city) in what's considered fashion.

I'm more of a T-shirt, jeans, flannel shirt type of person, with Vans and chucks.

me too, your decribing most of my waldrobe minus several hats and heels.
I like low maintenance, but sometimes that involves (hair pins, dress, heels, jacket,) DONE!
