"YOU" were talking about Northerners and how "YOU" have to care for some reason because you're one gigantic state away from Mexico and only have one case of swine flu right now and nobody aside from YOUrself has any authority to talk about mexico, mexicans, mexico city, or swine flu.

small article in LA times notes this strain of flu is weaker than even the seasonal flu. 2 day recovery on average. yet the threat level still goes up. it was probably lost in translation though.

Thanks for that correction Jeff. Speaking ov evidence, with all the blathering (even onotherwise liberal media outlets), has anyone heard ov eactly WHY this came about & WHY MX? Here's a pretty damned credible theory:

The passing ov NAFTA back in the early '90's paved the way for U.S. owned BIG FARMA corperations to move their pig farming operations to MX - where they knew they wouldn't have to be subjected to U.S. regulations. What insued was basically, a gaint petry dish - a disaster waiting to happen.

I read an article that claims exactly what you've typed here. They traced the origin of the flu to a corporate pig farm in Mexico. Of course the US-based company tried to distance itself and "it's all just conjecture" coming from the mouths of the corporate big wigs.

KABUL (Reuters) - Afghanistan's only known pig has been locked in a room, away from visitors to Kabul zoo where it normally grazes beside deer and goats, because people are worried it could infect them with the virus popularly known as swine flu.

The pig is a curiosity in Muslim Afghanistan, where pork and pig products are illegal because they are considered irreligious, and has been in quarantine since Sunday after visitors expressed alarm it could spread the new flu strain.
