The Absence of the Lady Stoner

I've noticed for a while that very few women smoke marijuana in comparison to those that use alcohol and other drugs. While some of the women I know use it socially, the presence of any who regularly smoke weed is scant. I'm not saying that this a problem or anything, I'm just wondering, why?
This may also explain why most "Stoner Movies" are centered around men getting marijuana, food and/or "chicks, man".

Alcohol could go either way, recreation, or abusive substance. Marijuana is considered recreational, but i think that common belief, has lead many to excessively use it in larger amounts, which can equally cause problems. I'm not sure if there are really less women smoking it, but i do believe their less likely to brag about smoking it nearly as much as men do. It seems to have become a bigger fad to tell everyone you enjoy doing it, then actually doing it for your own enjoyment. Their out there i'm sure, probably just spending less time printing t-shirts and writing songs devoted to it.

Stoners are the most motivated people I know.
And it sucks that this country criminalizes smoking weed, when it's obvious that laws regulating marijuana are in place to perpetuate a system of violence against poor people, especially poor people of color.
Obama should start smoking weed again. Maybe we'd actually get something done and chill out and stop harming brown people domestically with the prison system.

I smoke as much as I can and I've been doing that for about two years now. Weed is at times less easy to come by, but I can say most of the guys I buy weed from (never bought from a fellow woman) don't rip me off badly. A great deal of my student loan refund is... up in smoke. A lot of heads are women at least where I live. Stoner "culture" (consumer goods- movies and such) is for the worms though really, irrelevant to my life no matter how much I smoke. I try not to exploit the plant or exaggerate its effects

ehhh i'm not sure, cuz me and the gals i roll with are definitely habitual stoners and don't really drink or do any other drugs..actually most of the women i know smoke mary jane..

I must say that the absence of the lady stoner is relatively new to me, seeing as I have quite a few lady stoner stoner friends. I myself love to smoke weed, and am only abstaining for the time being because I'm pregnant.

This something that's true but I've never thought about. There is only one movie I know of called 'Smiley Face' by Gregg Araki that features a female stoner but that is the only one. Here in the Bay Area I know plenty of ladies who love marijuana and a few that deal too. But they are far out numbered by men. Such a shame. LOL.

I am gonna agree with india. I know as many xx stoners as I do xy stoners. Also, at risk of being stoned (the kind that involves actual stones) I would say that hypothetically, if india wanted to get baked whilst preggers, she could and it would have minimal effect upon her babah. Save for the munchies and the possibility of a lower birth weight. After all, pot is a plant, and not even a poisonous one at that.@ PHACTZThere's no pride in being a troll. Can't get it and at this point, I really don't care...It was funny though; when I was freaking out due to a shitty project that myself and a friend of mine had gotten ourselves into, he just asked me out of the blue 'Okay, you need to joint now before you kill someone'
To be truthful though, I was about to punch someone in the face for what they did to us but yeah....that's the way it is with me at the moment. :P

for the most part, i think girls are usually more quiet about their stoner tendencies because of whatever "thats not lady-like" backlash.. but i've always gotten the "why didn't you tell me sooner" when i let someone know i smoke..
i personally would suggest that lady stoners should go get their medical cards, cuz who wants to deal with creeper dealers with shitty weed (who think its just a matter of time until you sleep with them) when you can go to a nice well-lit dispensary and choose from a variety of awesome weed, edibles, and accessories.. (i am in no way telling anyone what to do tho)
but yea, i love my lady stoners, pretty potheads, and ggd ^_~v
