I'unno about this set up you have of your idea of the image of today's black man.
Obama is President of the United States and Will Smith is a sure thing for box office hits.
...so... do you the best you can and hopefully-- slowly, but surely --the society around you will see your humanity.
Not to make you feel worse, but that stuff is minor compared with a lot of other stats on stuff like murder, HIV, and incarceration. It might help you to read books written by or about Black folks from other eras. You can see what they went through and appreciate where you are now. Some of their resilience will probably rub off on you.
Pfft, i think i'm doing ah`ight. Though, i am looking for work.
The image of today's black man. Well it all depends on how you see it and what you perceive. An image is just an image, but by that image, that's how society perceives us.
