AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

afropunk 2013

What makes a girl pretty? is it her smile? Is it her hair? Or is it her stare? What makes you want to hold her close?

I ask because I am doing an art project at my college. I walked around with a pink dress, hair tousled, and ashy but I still managed to get compliments. So I wanna hear those opinions!

yo, how about I didn't peep this discussion only because I thought this was a "woman to woman" joint!

but yeah...  pretty is a woman's eyes.    We talkin strictly physical, right?     Cause I'm not gettin all "deep" & metaphorical metamorphesis meta-meta symbolic/ abstract.    ya know.

The eyes are probably the 1st thing that would grab my attention.

A cute/sexy smile is the jump.    Doesn't matter if she has a gap or not.

The hair could be anything.    As long as she rocks it right.

and oh yea... smooth skin.       (Your pretty-factor gets upgraded when you use some Jergens or St. Ives Whipped Silk).

 a healthy glow...

Okay so a healthy glow !

Wearing clothes that flatter you and accentuate your personal shape, cute shoes that do the same for your feet, wearing a scent you like, sometimes just washing your face and body and wearing anything in your closet makes you feel pretty.

Hair......that's personal. Same as clothes, whatever you like on yourself. I've gone thru different hair stages in 30 years. Longer straightened curled up sprayed hair, short hair, Mohawk for eight years or so (I felt pretty in it when I curled it up, Really I did!), flat twist up do. Sometimes now I feel pretty no matter how wild my hair is....if I put a big flower clip in my hair or a sparkly barrette.

Today I put on some shoes that sorta matched my jacket and bright red lipstick and red nails and hell yeah I felt pretty. :)

For me, it's confidence.  There is nothing more attractive than a woman who is secure in who she is and does not feel the need to imitate others.  She knows what she likes and does not feel the need to follow trends.

Also, a great personality, character and passion.  She has interests and purpose in her life.

Aww that's cute but a good outfit makes me feel good too.

sweetness and honesty, and a great smile. It doesn't matter how put-together she is.

There's a lot of research out there. Google facial symmetry, hip to waist ratio, and attractiveness. Individual preferences aside most of what is perceived as "pretty" comes down to youth and cultural attitudes.

understanding, sincerely, down to Earth, sweet smell, cute eyes, good hygiene,attractive,......in the war zone blasting with me :p

ok so for you personality is everything
