On another site there was the typical rapper bitching about black women. Just another day of the week. It was the run of the mill rah rah same as always.
But then he threw this in:
"My girl is Black and White. I guess the half White in her is where she still cooks and do all the shit that I say, so we make it. She just takes care of me and I like that. She don’t be begging and I don’t gotta buy her all this crazy ass shit."
Naturally I was not that shocked at the levels of IGNORANT in that statement. (we are talking a backward ass rapper here)
But wouldn't that be insulting to say about your mate even in jist?

Seriously though, I have spoken with way too many Black men who think that way. It makes my head spin. I mean, I wouldn't consider myself the most feminist dude around, but c'mon. These guys are living and thinking like cavemen.
On the flip side, Black women are attending and graduating from college at much higher rates than Black men, so take that for what it's worth.

I never liked his ass to begin with, and this just drives the nail further into the coffin. You don't want look at someone and assume they are an ignorant asshole, but I wasn't wrong with my judgement on this dude.

btw, I've known White men that are just as morally-corrupt as Black guys (in regards to objectifying a mixed race woman). White men aren't as vocal about it, but me being a man, I've noticed that any man will tell the truth around other men. The things I've heard my former White co-workers talk about during happy hour. I don't think this is a problem thats exclusive to just Black men. Yes, its disgusting that some Black men feel that way, and should I ever have daughters I will LOVE them so much that I hope they wont even have a micro interest in assholes like that.

Reminds me of some poster who used to post on the old board and complain how black american women act like princesses (instead of peasants, I guess). I'll always remember him saying "black girl, you are no princess".

I can't speak for anyone else but having your own opinions, not being afraid to voice them and go up against what a romantic male interest thinks will make him view you as "one of those feminists". You're never supposed to disagree and if you disagree you're supposed to keep your feminist mouth shut so as to not bruise his macho ego and if you bruise his macho ego you'll see the door very fast. Try being female as you are now (a man. put the freedom of movement a man has in a woman's body and watch the number of potential suitors dwindle). Our world is a wee bit different.
Not saying men are scot-free but standing up for yourself and having a strong sense of self is generally considered "masculine" and not too many men like masculine women.
Not saying all men are like this but in varying degrees (on a scale from 1 to 10) most are- gender roles still exist and it's the woman's role to be at least a little "below" the man. Couples where the woman wears the pants are often ridiculed and stand out. Ever hear the saying "smart girls never marry" and "boys don't like smart girls" same principle: a lot of men still don't want a woman who "wants to be a man" who wants to be equal- a woman is to know her role. Not even speaking in terms of educated financially successful career-oriented women because they obviously attract a higher calibre of man who knows better- the rest are scared off. The rest of us women have to deal with the rest of men. You know how the "ONE" doesn't exist for a lot of people. This is one small facet of that. A lot of women will be spinsters just for the fact that they have a strong sense of self. Period.
But we will always be viewed as "flawed" or somehow too damaged, too argumentative to be good enough to attract a man. Just not right mistakes on the conveyor belt.
That's my opinion, anyway. As a girl who was told to stop answering questions in class so the boys wouldn't stop talking to me and a girl who's been questioned about my "smartness" many times by boys (and surprisingly some grown ass men) when I do something outside of the giggling at all the jokes etc., schtick we're expected to do.
You can't say men don't have egos that need to be massaged by having a woman who is "less intelligent" etc.,? Is it really so implausible that most men don't want to ever feel their woman is a total equal. In the world outside of open minded alternative-ness even women who pay bills and work evenly with their mates are expected to yield in a feminine way.

There is this misconception that ALL black women are bitches anyway. There is this sense of entitlement to everything we have by some selfish ass ignant black men. That we have no boundaries, and that if they are interested in us we are supposed to melt and do so pantiless and dont even THINK of telling him he has to use a condom, and if we become pregnant don't DREAM of telling him he needs to pay child support and / or be a father and help raise the child. It goes on and on like this, and if we say 'yeah no fucking thanks' then we get stamped bitches, who's 'standards are too high.'
If a man treats me as if I am his precious queen then I have no problems givng him my best and treating him like royalty as well. But not many brothas are on that tip, they are more 'beg for it bitch' than 'how can I make you feel special today'.
Don't get me started on if you are a woman who loves hip hop. You gotta wear a burka to hip hop shows to get some peace.

Real talk.
I have been approached by black men, and after talking to me for a few minutes, a certian type of man becomes disinterested because the conversation didn't turn to sex right away. Men have stated 'You are smart.' needless to say they are never seen again.
Men say they want a woman with a sense of humor. What they mean is a woman who will laugh at their lame jokes and not be funnier than them. Because if you are more clever or quicker witted? Guess what? That's right, no date on saturday night for you.
It's the systymatic dumbing down that we are supposed to submit to from like second grade. Don't shine too bright, don't be too smart, don't show the guy up in class, and DEFINATELY DONT BEAT HIM ON THE BASKETBALL COURT!! He challenged me, he should have been prepared to be beaten.
Im not going to pretend to love Lil Wayne just because his ignant ass does, and actually if he does, I will probably be trying to lose his ass in a crowd someplace anyway.
We smarties are single cause we do have a sense of self, and the average ignant ass slim thug aint gonna cut it. there's alot of black men perpatrating out there like this and therefore we don't have much to work with. When we DO find intelligent men, who aren't the stereotype.......you know the rest..

Most women get the "you don't like the shit that I give you? Bitch." reaction from men. Most women have to nearly wear bhurkas anyway since men believe that if it's on "display" we are free to punish, grab, oogle because our bodies belong to them. Women are community property. Of mens'. We exist for their pleasure and we're not supposed to have a sense of self otherwise we won't fit in the "machine".
And all this programming really does start as early as 2nd grade with girls and boys. Try to play with the boys and they'll kick you in the shins until you cry.
I've totally experienced the "you're smart"= "I don't like you anymore".
But most men on this site and most men looking in will see this as us not being smart enough to look in the right place for men (kinda funny cause most men are like this. One of my favorite episodes of MST3K is this 1960s Home Ec college video that shows why women should major in home ec. It's so sexist. But at one point the older girls are teaching the little girls and the riff to go along with the scene is "....and then, you get to be subjugated to men, forever!"
Edit, again: Here it is, The Home Economics Story: This short is actually quite liberal for its' day. Telling girls to go to college and study sciences, math etc., and that they can do it. Home Ec is just the door they had to go through.

On this site? Nahh. I think there are one or two here that feel like that. But not the majorty. They also have to take in account most of the men we encounter WE don't pick THEY come to US, we be ourselves, they walk away disgusted because we didn't offer to suck them off in the first five minutes. I have had conversations with men I was 'talking to' and when sex came up and the discussion of what my needs were ...the idea that I had needs in the first place was problematic. We are just supposed to get them off and damn what we want. Foreplay? Bitch please. Oh bitch please? Then I guess were done then. What? I said bye. For real? Yeah, bye!!!! Girl quit playin. Click. Then Im all kinds of frigid bitches and dikes. Dont get me started on the struggle over the condom use. Usually goes the same way. BYE!!! They threaten not to like me if I don't let them use my body the way they want to. Well I'll just have to find a way to survive without your trifflin ass. However will I cope!
I am not ashamed that I like a clean house. I am not ashamed that I like to cook. I am very supportive of a man that gets out there and grinds everyday, and has good habits when it comes to priorties, meaning paying bills first before $200 sneakers and video games. Quiet as it's kept I'd rather not have to even deal with someone who still spends money on video games. But in moderation, not on my time, not cutting into my budget---Id rather deal with that than a weed smoker/ druggie, alcoholic or gambler.

I think this was done on purpose to get his name ringing nationally again. He used to be on Pharrell's label but got dropped. He's even got two pages of AP discussion now.
