... the other Black experience

Japanese pronunciation is quite easy, esp. if you speak Latinate languages like Portuguese, Spanish or Italian. All the vowels are virtually the same.

/a/ is just like "a" in "jalapeno"
/i/ is just like "i" in "via", or "ea" in "easy", or "ee" in "feet"
/o/ is just like "o" in "open"
/u/ is just like "u" in "illusion" or "ew" "stew"
/e/ is just like "e" in "hey", or "ay" in "May", or "eigh" in "sleigh"

If you can spend a few minutes of a given period, mastering Japanese pronunciation is a cinch.

I'm dying to learn to speak Japanese. I told my dad once I want to live in Japan. He told me do not live there for a long time. Regardless someday I was make it to the island.
If you cant get to the island, at least get to little tokyo, los angeles or japan town, san francisco. the new greatest strength of the usa is road trips a tons of ethnic enclaves.
