Hi Detroit ! I'm actually living in NYC but I came of age musically speaking in Detroit rock city ! It's great  to see that Detroit has a scene like this and I'm looking forward to possibly playing there this summer. We're a hybrid of metal, hard rock and some progg/jazz influences, I call it heavy melodic . Check out my band Rain of Kings on AP and reverbnation as well.
