AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

I was wondering. You know I'm really old school and when I was growing up we use to do a dance called "Jittin". It started off as a total gangster dance. That's when if anyone knows about the "Errol Flynn"started.(that was my cousin Roachie"s gang). Then "Flashlight" came out and everybody went crazy. I mean me and my crew owned that shit anytime no matter where we were at.If "Flashlight" came on we would just start buggin. We even were on "The Scene" Someone told me that there still doing it.Once I moved to New york I was in freakville and I've been there ever since.

I damn near tore my ACL trying to jit down at Grand Quarters with some friends. All the hoods would have their jit crew repin' at the clubs, and by the end of the night there would be a full scale dance off like out of West Side Story. Good times man, good times.

Yea, the "Grand Quarters" I remember that place. That's way cool.So they are still doing it! Man, that was almost another life for me.
Yeah, people still jit. I thought that dance was so cool when I was a kid, but now that I look at it, it just looks silly...lol
Wow yeah everyone use to jit when I was younger..this was the late 90s in my case. Not sure when it originated, but if it was the time "Flashlight" came out than we must have been late adopters.
