AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

I noticed a lot of poets in here. I wondered who you all take your influences from and who you like to read. (Writes = Readers) Who are your favorite poets or what are your favorite poems? why do you love them?

I love e.e. cummings for his style. The unconventionality is so quirky and charming.
I also like Bukowski for the juxtaposed griminess and tenderness in his work.
Naomi Shabib Nye, Nikki Giovanni and Louise Glucke all have this distinctly female tone in their work that I love. Each has her own take, but all are wonderful. Others are Li-Young Lee, Paul L Dunbar, Ai, Billy Collins, Matt Dickman, Sexton and Plath

Your turn! Go! :)
