AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

I learned this game in one of my poetry classes but I don't remember what it is called.

1. Pick a topic

2. Person one writes a line on that topic and folds the paper so that just their line is hidden and passes it on

3. Person two writes another line on the same topic, folds the paper so that just their line is hidden

4. Continue until there is no more room on the paper

5. Unfold it and bam, you have a poem. Not always a good poem, but you have a poem.

It's pretty awesome, especially when it makes sense because then its like you and the people all around you were on the same wave length. I remember these two chicks in my class always tried too hard to be different and gruesome. Even if the topic was on flowers they some how had to drudge up a crazy image regarding blood, guts, rape, menstration etc. And all I could think to myself was "damn bitch, you need a hug, a blunt, some dick, or some fucking therapy". But I hope y'all have fun with that lil game=)

First line: Trying to find my place in this world. Gaining a sense of belonging.
line 2: be it bog, be it bane, be it blight, but by the gods all is worth traversing should i find a phrase worth all the longing.
