anthropology, biology, biotechnology, environmental science, psychology, human ecology--those are my interests, but unfortunately i'm a liberal arts major... i hope to go back for the sciences though, but thats gonna take a stint at a community college again, methinks.
Astrophysics, Astronomy, computer science, and nanotechnology.

mythological concepts related to science ala Chariots of the Gods, chupacabras, Mayan prophecy, reptilians and grays, the 12th planet, etc. I don't believe in all these, but they really interest me.
That's psuedoscience. I'm fascinated by that stuff as well, but strictly from a folklore and psychology point of view. It is interesting and very telling of the society and times in which we live. http://www.anomalist.com has daily updates of stories and such from the edge of science. Where regular ol' science can be boring and humdrum, psuedoscience is very fun to delve into. :D

I agree with you on psuedoscience Obsidian. You used the word "Folklore" and that might even be a better term. When proof comes out that doesn't support the hypothesis it is immediately discounted: "That's AMA disinformation! They WANT you to get sick so they can treat you with their chemicals!" I've had that discussion here and elsewhere and people can get pissed. Add magic health products to my list as well.
Back in the day it was fairies, magic, gods, demons and all other assortments of things that fit the human view of the universe at that time. People in the future will look back on now and view us how we view of ancestors and their beliefs. There really is no difference in how people think then and now.

It use to be everything. I am taking prerequiste for Nursing. So I have huge interest in Medical Science and Forensic Science. I want to combine the two. I love research too.
Make sure to take advantage of research opportunities at the university you are attending. It is a great way to get your foot in the door and looks great when you are applying to schools. You can find info on research by searching the university website or emailing professors who are conducting research to ask if they need assistants. Some profs will even pay you for your time and services; so not only do you get an application booster and experience, but some pocket change as well. :D

Hey peeps!

Im a trichology major. I was doing fingerprinting but who has the patience. Science is the shit!!!

I was fascinated with astronomy, astrophysics , cosmology, aeronautics, oceanography as well as music and art from a very young age. I worked in a planetarium at the age of 12 operating two telescopes ( 8" & 12" Celestron  cassagranian reflectors) on the observation deck for the public and studied  with the resident astronomer. I didn't make much money but I was given total access to the planetarium, free classes and admission to the star shows and parties  this was the Mcdonald planetarium in St. Louis Mo.

Computer science, Fringe science, and the science of Star Trek and Ancient Mysteries.
Right now, reading, The Art of Unix Programming (http://www.faqs.org/docs/artu/index.html), in between browsing Gamasutra, Kotaku, and G4.  And the Facebook.  heh
Great to see this thing still has some life.  :D  My current science-ness after a stint doing research on toads and teeny tiny fresh water fish dissections, is medicine.  Hope to get a residency in psychiatry and further my love of the human mind and all of it's wackiness.  Thus far it has been a trip down the rabbit hole (the white communicating rami :P).
