Divination? What style do you practice?

What form of divination do you do? I practice cartomancy (playing card divination), tarot, natal chart readings, palmistry, face reading (I'm still a bit rusty), graphology/handwriting analysis, astrology as a whole, dream interpretation annnnnnnd I think that's it. What's the question you're most asked? (Love readings, jobs, random crap), how do you deal with the annoying ones or naysayers and how do you feel about doing it for money? Just trying to stir some life in here ^.^

Sidereal Western Astrology? Basically the same form of astrology used in your average natal chart and astrology reading in oppsed to another form such as Vesta, yep? Do you do it by using an ephemeris (I have a growing collection from 03!), eyeballing it or using a computer program? I use alabe for the overall but Astrodienist(sp) for stuff like Vertex and Chiron. I like how they'll even draw aspects to them and even the quarter points, makes it an easier read.

For the "Doing it for money" part, d'you mean that you woudn't do it but since good astrologers are hard to find you would think on it if the opportunity presented itself? You wrote it a little odd so I don't know if I'm understanding it right.

I have refused really few people doing divination. I mainly will refuse only if a reading really isn't needed. Even if the person is being a total loser, I won't refuse a reading, I just pull all their skeletons out the closet. It is true that all forms of divination are simply a matter of using symbols as the medium to better translate the unconcious collective (or whatever ppl want to call it).

Meh there's a lot of mysteries in the world and I doubt the internet will help much besides attracting more lunatics to it like moths to an open flame. There were people who did dislike astrology and I think that was possibly for political control for the people because they certianly used it themselves. People used astrology to plant by, have festivities, fish by, basically figure out how to conduct normal life and the church and royalty has used it themselves. In addition, for a past (ain't that past because it still is pretty prevalent today) culture that supposedly didn't like it, they sure made a lot of reference to them. It makes me scratch my head sometimes when people believe they're terribly Christian and in their works they make references to Greco-Roman gods and goddesses almost to the point you would think they were actually practicing. I'm not sure if it's hypocisy or not but it certainly is interesting and something to laugh at when bored in an English class.

Metaphysics, Numerology,Life Path Numbers, Natal Charts, Astrology and Alchemy

The question I am most asked is "can you calculate my life path number". After that is done, "what does that number mean?"

If someone is a naysayers I tell them "to each her/his own" and keep it moving.

I don't do it for money but I don't frown on people that do. At this point I am still new with Numerology, Life Path Calculations/Interpretations and Natal Chart readings (about a year and a half) so I am learning from others right now.

I used to do quite a bit of palmistry but, I'm really, really rusty now. Now I do primarily tarot and tasseomancy (reading tea-leaves).

I never do divination or anything else of a magic nature for anyone anymore. Too many naysayers, had some things go REALLY bad (pro tip: finish anything you start), and too many people be very unappreciative of what I tell them.

Ah, I forgot you did tea leaves! But it seems just about everyone on here has the same consensus about doing it for others: no one really likes it for the naysayers. I admit, it is pretty annoying to deal with because you're trying to be nice and they're trying to make you feel stupid. Whenever people would tell me that they didn't like my reading primarily because it wasn't all sunny and peachy, I just tell them, "Welcome to the real world. If you didn't want to know, you shouldn't have asked. Next time, don't." And they usually clam up after that

Astrology, tarot, and methods that I have found success with that I have no name for; not that those forms have no name. Maybe someone could tell me. I have had success with a form similar to pendulum and/or maybe I-Ching. I assigned a meaning to each side of a coin-like charm that hangs from a long silver chain. I hold then release the charms and allow them to swing/turn until it balances and shows a particular face. I derive an answer based on what I have assigned to the charm and the question asked.

Bibliomancy is basically flipping open a book and selecting a word or passage at random, that word/passage will have meaning to your question/situation. Sacred texts are usually used. Tasseomancy is tea reading.

There's thousands of forms of divination from interpreting a laugh to how the wind blows to how an arrow fly. It could be a unique form you have but I would wonder if it did have a name.

When it comes to finding your true spiritual nature, internal conflict is to be had. It is good to be a skeptic, skeptism is healthy but just like anything, too much of it can be very bad for you. It's not necessary to be part of a religion of any sort to be spiritual, just believe. Hoodoo and voodoo are really interesting sections of Paganism with plenty of history, plus there are a few practitioners here in this group, just ask.

As for the "God Gene", I always take science with a bit of salt when it discusses spirituality because sometimes science has a very hard time understanding that you can't put every little thing in a microscope. Some things are in the body, some things are in the mind. While the body and the mind are indeed interconnected, I believe a lot of spiritual experences are psychosomatic where the body is responding to what the mind feels rather than the other way around. It would be interesting however to explore the God Gene but I don't think there would be a cut and dry method to determine who is likelier to become a bitter atheist with no regard for religion or spirituality whatsoever or who will become a rabid practitioner of their faith, apt to bulldoze anything different strictly from their genetic makeup.
