AFRO-PUNK

... the other Black experience

Howdy thar. :P Qen here! I would like know how you got into the Pagan religion and how has it changed your life. Why do you prefer this path over the former path you took?

I'll explain my story here

A few years ago, I was pretty clueless on religion after leaving Islam. I found out things that were pretty unpleasant to me in that religion,so,I never bothered to go back. One time, I was taking a bus to school and met a girl. We hanged out with each other frequently and got to know one another. During our friendship, she told me she practiced witchcraft or Wicca( I think that's what she said). At first, I was scared but through her explanations, I managed to demolish my fear. She handed me a scrap of paper with a list of candle color meanings when doing candle magick. To make a long story short, I did hard research on Paganism,Satanism, and witchcraft. I attempted spells and most of them had worked for me. Everything about the path just amazed me and I wanted to be apart of it.After years of practicing witchcraft, I realized that I have control over my life. I can do anything if I put my mind to it. :) I'm currently a poly atheist green witch but I respect highly of Pagan religions. I prefer my practice over Islam because I can do my own miracles without a deity,I don't have to confirm to what a female should be, no book telling me how I should feel about something or do and other reasons.

Hi Qen!
I come from a Christian background, I was always drawn to the 'esoteric', but had to hide it as these interests are frowned upon. As an inquisitive child, I frequently asked questions about passages in the bible that did not sit well with me, the priests answered my questions with "because it just like that", which as you can imaging did nothing to satisfy my curiosity.
I have also had various supernatural experiences and sense that there is something beyond the physical plane. Battling with years of instilled conditioning by Christian churches, I finally made the decision to take the plunge. I have not cast any spells of sorts, just blessing and if you will purification rituals. I prefer to practise alone due to the traumatic experiences of the church.
I am still on my life long learning curve and I am loving any minute of it.
My path is kemetism, but I am also exploring hemetism, which is the parent of kemetism, and other paths.
I shall go wherever my spiritual path leds me.

Hello thar,TallawahKaBast. :D Awesome posssum. And I shall do the same. I enjoy my practice and I love exploring things I never encountered before in witchcraft. Have you ever astral project? I tried to do it. I was so close. >_br/>

Hello Sweetie,
Yes I have actually by accident - twice!
The first I was young, I mean really little, I saw my self lying on my bed.
I got excited when I realised what was happening and wanted to explore naturally... Kids have no fear.
However, I was stopped in my tracks only by what I would call my guardian angel.
I felt a darkness around me (like in Supernatural when a demon leaves its host), I felt several presences swarming around me and my body, but I saw nothing. I 'felt' a voice say "don't go any farther, return to your body. If you don't someone else will take it." I thought for a moment and realised that if someone else took my body, the. Maybe I would never see my family and that made me sad. I returned straight away.

The second time I unwittingly astral projected was in my teens, and it was as I fell asleep I was not at all aware of what was happening. I did not feel any presence, however I remembered the warning from all those years ago, and did not go far. From what I have read on astral projection, it is really risky. You could be locked out of your own body be another that has taken it. I would recommend reading, lots of reading, and the first time you attempt it, have someone there to watch over your body. I would love to astral project again - intentionally, but only after extensive research and perhaps preparing a protective spell if possible.

OH. :o Really? I thought astral projection were safe to do... Hm. Yes. I would do hard research on this too.
